Insecurity I would imagine. They, and many others, feel the need to justify their choice in vehicle. Instead of just enjoying them, and not caring what the guy next to you is driving, like one should.

This will probably be short-lived when the 6th gen z/28 comes out. Ford guys can have their day in the sun for a little while. |

For $63K I would rather have a 1LT Z51 C7 with magnetic suspension. Smaller car, better looking, better equipped and better economy compared to a GT350R.
The base GT350 with track pack will be a good bargain if one can be had at MSRP. I would still pick the C7 for $5k more unless I had a need for rear seats. |

I'm really curious if/what GM is going to do to answer the GT350 / GT350R. To be able to compete against that Voodoo engine the LT1 isn't going to cut it and we haven't heard a thing about another N/A engine similar to the old LS7, aside from the attempt to do another 7 liter only to be halted due to emissions.
Combine that with the fact that Ford is claiming that the GT350R is over a second faster than the Z/28 and the GT350 is about on pace with a C7 Z51. It seems to me that an attempt to top the GT350R would require a Camaro that is quite a bit superior to a Corvette.
