Get a 370z, those things are built for drifting. The last thing, I'm sure the designers of any muscle/pony car, whether it was the challenger, Mustang, or Camaro was too have it as an ideal drift car. I couldn't find it in my heart too beat on this beauty of a car anyway, I've done it a few times in my patrol car chasing stolen rides but that was in a 80k mile Ford Crown Vic and I felt bad for the car.

You plan on buying tires all the time?
Don't get me wrong I drive my vehicles hard from time to time but daily drifting is kinda extreme. If drifting is a high priority not sure this is your car. If you want to do it from time to time or on a track I'm sure it can still be done. Should get sideways without much effort in a turn with TC off if you mash the pedal. My 4th gen when stock could do that. |

All sorts of unwanted things happen more than once with any car model. If you're that worried about issues with a car you probably shouldn't ever buy a car because every model out there has a random unwanted issue that very few people will ever experience... That being said, if you're wanting to drift all the time I don't see the Camaro being the car you'd want to use. Go buy an old 240SX and drop an LS motor in it. That's a much better choice.

Just keep it, no need to trade it on a Camaro. You won't have to worry about air bags deploying while drifting anymore.

6th gen is a completely different car. Shouldn't just assume the same will happen in the 6th gen. I don't see why the car wouldn't drift.

Now I'm not an expert in these things, but most drifts I've seen (hell, most donuts!) are a lot smoother than the guy demonstrated in the video. Smooth transitions should never result in the side-curtain deployment as seen here.

The title of that video should say "airbags deploy while ATTEMPTING to drift". That's not drifting. He's basically doing a slalom. While the airbags still shouldn't go off, it's the sudden left and right jarring of the car that did it.

That would ruin you whole day. The only fix might be a switch to disable airbags during "off-road driving." |

Mechanically & electronically, the 5th & 6th gens will be completely different cars. Not a single component that would cause an airbag to deploy in a 5th gen is being used in the 6th. So there isn't any point in using the 5th gen as a reference point on how the 6th gen will behave.
