Is the VIN format known for the Camaro yet? Are those vehicle IDs partial VINs?

Also, there's a vehicle listed with an LT1 and an M5U transmission. LT1 is Corvette/Camaro's V8. M5U is the 8L90 Hydra-Matic for trucks. That makes zero sense. Edit: Never mind, M5U is used for cars as well. Edit #2: Never mind, 6G is GM Holden-sourced vehicles.

Car #2 is a 2015 1LE, looks like #1/3 are 2016 1SS models.
I'm guessing #5/7/8 are Corvette Stingrays, #6 is a 5th gen SS automatic, and #9 is a Z06. #10 is one of the HD trucks.

Also: MVB-NS = Manufacturing Validation Build - Non-saleable. MVB-S = Manufacturing Validation Build - Saleable.

I really hope that if they make an LT4 Camaro that they do not try to make a Z/28 out of it....

I thinking they will some how combine the ZL1 and Z28 together like they did with the Z06. We will see

I have a plan B for them, take the 6.2L LT1 engine and give it the same treatment that the LS7 got (titanium rotating mass and all). With the shorter stroke move the redline up to 7,500-8,000rpms. Then give it the 305s on all corners DSSV shocks ceramic brakes etc.... like the last Z/28 and boom.... Or you can make a standard Z/28 without the DSSV and ceramic brakes and R rubber and offer a Z/28 R package for a few thousand dollars to add that stuff on. |

LT1 still has growing room..... raise compression, cam, add dry sump, there's your Z/28 motivation.
It's already forged bottom end with (only) 11.5 compression...

One of the reasons companies go with forced induction is it's easier to hit emissions targets with that rather than N/A. Ford had "harder than normal" times getting the 5.2 FPC motor to pass, and that was after the 5.8 Trinity motor at 662 HP. |

Personally, I like torque, maybe a cam, intake and HD valvetrain, I'd hate to see the torque drop with a destroked crank. 300 lb ft @ 1000 rpm is pretty awesome!

I like the idea of having a diverse offerings of engines, I like the idea of having a Camaro with a supercharged 640BHP LT4 engine (ZL1). However I just think it would be cool to see a 6.2L 8,000rpm N/A engine in a Z/28 to compete with the Mustang GT350. |
