Just saw this and I have to say I am not impressed for a few reasons.
Instead of going into the myriad of reasons why, including the rub marks, wrinkles, techs who had to be flown in from Detroit to be "taught" how to put on new roofs, exchange of roofs, lawsuits (me included), plus the guy from GM (i forget his name) who said "this will be the best designed roof EVER" ---- there is no way I am excited about this. Not to mention the water in the back seat floor, bad water bags, leaking water bags, holy cow SO many issues. Skeptical MAYBE, but I swore off verts after that experience and wouldn't go back if you paid me in solid gold ingots. Check out all the 5th gen forums where people were bananas about the convertible announcement (me included), then all the forums where people had issues. Fool me once......

^ Notice in the vid that with the top up you get a quick glance of a true hard top effect with no B-pillar and all four windows down. Only way to get a new Camaro hard top.
EDIT: If they made a real hardtop, I would no longer be on the fence due to poor visibility issues. They would still be they but a hardtop 2dr experience rules. Last edited by Stex; 06-24-2015 at 09:18 AM. |

BUT, it appears that they've really been listening to people's input on the coupe & vert. And since there's been little to no problems with the Stingray tops, I believe GM has learned and won't repeat these mistakes again. |

When the ZL1 convertible was announced, I had to have it so I traded my 2011 SS in on a ZL1 convertible. Took delivery of my ZL1 convertible August 27 of 2012 and after 24,000 miles and almost three years, I haven't had a single issue with the top on the ZL1. |

No top problems here, looking forward to the 6 Gen!
I bought a 2011 RS vert fairly early in the production cycle (June 2011). No problems ever with it; no rub marks, no top wear, no water bag problems, no water in the interior, etc. It's been a great experience.
However, one of my few complaints about the 5th Gen Camaro soft top (after having owned two SSRs) was the tonneau design. I hardly ever use mine; it's just too much time and trouble to install and remove, even though it looks great when in place. I'd even settle for the new Mustang's solution; it'd be an improvement. But I just love the new top design, and the vehicle overall is a big leap forward in design and styling, inside and out. I wasn't crazy about the 2014-2015 updates to the nose and tail, but the 6th Gen gets almost everything right. Finally, it looks like I'll be angling to trade in my 2011 for the 2016 vert .. and, finally, I'll be able to clean the inside of the rear glass without crawling into the back seat! |

Ford really dropped the ball on the performance of the new Mustang. It's been a rough month for Mustang fans. |
