What about the question within this threads original question?
GT350 is out for MY 2015. 2016, for the masses. The coming GT500 is a industry non-secret. So, let's say GT500 hits the streets in MY 2018, with some extra track cred over its last iteration due to what will have no doubt have been learned developing GT350. Camaro launches for MY 2016. Perhaps we'll see a hi-po Camaro in MY 2017. GT350 Will still be out and about and GT500 Will be right around the corner. Which target does GM choose to engage?

Thanks i totally forgot about the base gt not having any brakes. It has always been this way last few years anyway....brain fart. Wondering if chevy is going to do something similar this time...the standard 13.6/13.3 rotors are a bit on the small side. That or its a sign the car weighs under 3700lbs. |

2012 zl1 2013 1le 2014 z28 I really dont know for sure what will happen. If i had to guess this time around things are a bit different than in 2009/10. 1le type handling package first thing (since handling is so big now) either for 2016 or 2017 at the latest. zl1 or z28 with lt4 in 2017 or 2018 NA track monster z28 type car...dont know if it will happen. dont know if it wil be a good business decision looking at last time etc. Plus if they want to stay na nothing is avaliable right now with the ls7 gone....an updated ls7 would be amazing but have heard nothing about it. I suppose a massaged lt1 could compete with the 5.2...but an updated ls7 would really be something. If they build an na track monster I would guess it will be the last produced (because of the engine problem). But maybe not if the gt350 makes a name for itself/is successful. GM could get something going quicker... I really dont know what will happen so many possibilities lol |

I would be very surprised if we saw another Z28 anytime soon. A ZL1 however could be here for the 2017 MY. People will try to compare the ZL1 with GT350 but I think it will be two different classes of cars. The GT350 is a NA track oriented car. The ZL1 is made to do everything good. Cruising, drag strip, and road course. Then there is the fact it will most likely have a 8 speed auto option, supercharged LT4 and have a base MSRP of $60k. Two different types of cars. GT500 and Hellcat will be the ZL1's competition. I think the GT350 will be in a class of its own for a while kinda like the BOSS was. Mags might compare a performance pack SS to a GT350 but I don't think that would be ideally fair. Same goes if they compare a ZL1 with GT350. Don't think it would be fair for the GT350 for some aspects of the test. Will probably see a GT350R vs C7 Z51 and again not ideal. Kinda like when there was no Camaro and we saw GT500 vs Corvette test. Way too unfair for the GT500. Two different classes of cars. GT350 will be in its own bracket for a while. Maybe another 5 years.

I can pretty much guarantee we see Magneride on the GT500 as a package now that its available on the GT350. |

![]() I completely agree with these comments, I think the 2016 SS with the MRC and a similar 1LE package: squared 285's tires, wider wheels, stiffer swaybars & springs, and with Competition or Recaro seats could beat the GT350, but for the GT350 R there will be a need for a new Z28 to be able to beat it or a Stingray ZR1/Z06.![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

Non stop bashing and excuses. Now they are using it and it has nothing to do with gm and is no big deal. They are also using irs now. Funny. But if we ever go ohc it will be top headline. Bashing for days. Victory chants. You name it. Even though Cadillac invented ohc and gm already has ohc engines. |
