Dimensions: width include mirrors

Ok, so taking a tape measure to the garage for fitment of 6amaro.

Does 74.7 include the widest possible dimension, i assume mirrors, but could be wrong, maybe fenders?

I've got a 3-car tandem - trying to figure out where it's gonna go, probably go like this; in winter in front tandem spot (by house entry), summer rear tandem spot by main door.

Anyone know if the new Camaro side mirrors will fold in or are they in a fixed position?

If you've got a 5th gen Camaro and it fits, then you've got nothing to worry about fitting the new car. It's about 0.7-0.8 inches narrower than the old car. (which IMO is the only disappointing aspect about the 6th gen cause I personally love the wide stance of the current Camaro)

And to answer your question, the width of 74.7" is without the mirrors. Trust me I'm really into widths and stuff when it comes to cars. I've always had a preference for wider cars but ironically I've chosen a narrower 2011 mustang GT over the wider 5th gen and seems like I'm going to be choosing the narrower 6th gen Camaro over the 0.7" wider 6th gen Mustang! Strange indeed

Mirrors definitely not included in that width measurement.

The mirrors aren't the widest part....look at the pictures.....the rear fenders sit outboard of the mirrors.

From this pic, when I zoomed in, it looks fixed. What I also noticed is that, it was mounted on the crease of the door, which make me think that it is not the final mounting area. I may be wrong though.

Whether or not the fenders exceed the mirrors (and I do not think they do, regardless of what it looks like to you), the width measurement GM gave does NOT include mirrors.

ok, so what are they measuring to get the official width?

Nevermind - Aces got it. It is the widest point, looks like mirrors and fender are equal.

Promise me that you never end up on a jury if I'm accused of something.....your logic makes absolutely no sense. Why would they provide a dimension less than the absolute width (widest part).....unless they're talking about track width or something, but when discussing general dimensions it would be meaningless to not include the mirrors if they are the widest part unless they are optional, fold, or are removable.

What you are proposing is akin to measuring front to back but not including the bumpers, or height without including the fixed antenna.

I award you No points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

If you look at the Dimensions section of the OnLine Order Guide for any Chevrolet car, you may find fine print stating the measurement does not include the mirrors.

As to the mirrors, I recall the mirrors on the reveal of the Gen5 Camaro were not the mirrors we got on the actual production cars.

Get your facts straight before you start insulting people. When car manufacturers provide width measurements, it is ALWAYS excluding mirrors unless otherwise stated. Furthermore, the maximum allowable width for passenger cars (per federal regs), is measured without mirrors.

The stated Camaro width does NOT include mirrors.

Feel free to apologize.

As an example, go to Chevrolet.com and look up dimensions on the '15. It says this:Width, Max w/o mirrors 75.50 in

You see that? Mirrors not included.
