You have to have a great design -- that's Tom Peters and his talented group of designers.....

........you have to have someone to lead the troops when it comes to executing that design -- Al Oppenheiser is an incredible Chief Engineer -- and he has great talent in many people -- special mention to Jim Kalahar our Program Manager and Cheryl Pilcher our outstanding Product Manager. Todd Christensen leads up marketing. There are so many people to name..........

The Disciples simply gathered information from YOU -- and brought those wants and needs to our attention. It should be no surprise that we already had a very good understanding of your wishes because we spend time at events throughout the year listening to you. Camaro5fest is especially helpful as you (collectively) are not bashful about what you want in a great motorcar and it gives you the opportunity to meet up with us and chat.

One thing I want to stress: The Team is chock-full of Camaro Enthusiasts --- it's not just 'another job' -- we live, eat and breathe these cars....and we also drive and completely understand the competition.

The goal is to bring you the best Camaro and best in class design, engineering and performance. The success of the 5th gen should illustrate what I'm trying to say........cars like the fun-to-drive V6 ...the SS.......the 1LE and the ZL1 and the Z/28.......we're never satisfied with 'good enough'...........

Lastly - thank YOU for your love and passion for these great cars - and we dedicate the 6th gen to you and hope you'll get a chance to test drive one just as soon as they hit the streets....we think you're gonna love what the team's done.
All I can say is wow. I hope everyone here understands how awesome it is to have a conduit for feedback like we have here on Camaro 5/6. All boxes were checked off with this new Camaro and it is very gratifying to see how carefully Chevrolet listened to us the fans and current owners. Thank you fbodfather for listening to us. When a new 1LE model is available I will be seriously considering an upgrade. Thank you!

I made a thread on here some months back when the first camo Camaro was seen at Ring... The thread was about Camaro owners not knowing what they wanted. I remember when there were some 2nd and 3rd Gen inspired renders and drawings and it seemed like no one wanted a radical change. Then with the 6th Gen dropped the padding people were like it's too close to the 5th Gen. GM can't win. I'm in love with the 6th and can't wait to get one!!!

That is very awesome you guys actually listen. I never doubted the chassis and powertrains would be on point, but I was scared the interior would be lacking. For the first time ever the Camaro looks to have an interior as good as the rest of the car, even the ugly turquoise dash lights are gone. I can't wait to see a 6-speed SS in person.

Last welcome surprise, the medium blue....I was one of the blue nazi's This shade is perfect. It doesnt look greenish or purplish, it just looks like a true medium blue

Glad you like what you see! The car has such a presence -- and its style is very agressive - I can hardly wait to get the showcars out there for enthusiasts to see them in person.

Thanks for all the work Scott! Camaro is looking awesome best one yet. But I really want to know if they'll be a 1LE ?! If not so I can get an SS. But if the 1LE is coming I'll wait .. Thanks again!

Scott it would be great if you or one of the Disciples could post a list of the things brought to the team that made it into the 6th. Some of the items might not be obvious to newcomers like myself. Thanks to you and everyone who helped get the word from the community to the team!

See….. Yes, Team Camaro DOES listen! Over the past several years, Scott Settlemire and “The Disciples” have been collecting YOUR input on what you’d like to see (or not) in the next generation of the Camaro. All of that input is reported to The Team and thrown against the wall to see what sticks. That being said, the 6th Generation Camaro incorporates many of YOUR suggestions like: the bright blue (my personal favorite and #1 pursuit since becoming a “Disciple” ), push button start, memory seats/mirrors, (24 color) ambient lighting choices, backup camera trajectory lines, blind spot indicator, etc.

Following the reveal, we were given the opportunity to crawl around inside and out and test drive it. In short, my thoughts on the 2016 Camaro.….

Exterior/Interior: I really like the new body lines and the improved interior styling seems more worthy of the rest of the car. Now, I’m not a techy person (more old school, but I’m trying), but I know many are and will really like the touch screen and dash layout.

The test drive: we drove – back-to-back – 2015 V6 and a 2016 V6 on part of the Belle Isle Grand Prix Circuit. A mixture of some “real world” and performance driving, it was comfortable and pleasant, but fun ride. The steering felt tighter and more precise without feeling too touchy. “Permagrin” amplified.

Ok, so am I caught up in the exhilaration of “holy crap, I’m driving a 2016 Camaro”? Perhaps. Do I like/love the 2016 Camaro? Definitely. Will the general public? I absolutely believe they will.

Pictures don’t do it justice – you just have to see it and experience it for yourself and form your own opinion.

Keep your thoughts coming….Team Camaro is not done listening!!

THANK YOU TEAM CAMARO FOR AN AWESOME CAMARO!!! I just can't say enough about their passion (and struggles) for this community!!!!

!
(excuse the edit)

I said the same thing at the 5th gen reveal @ Indy..... We see in 3D, A 2-Dimensional photo just doesn't cut it.

.... And Mr. Settlemire... I too am not a 'Techie' kinda guy, I've turned into my grandfather, trying to figure out how to set stations on a 60's AM push button radio.

Having said that, I thought the multi-color lighting and the Digital displays are pretty cool! Maybe my grandson can help me figure out how to use it

Nice job, GM... Nice job

Yes everyone did a great job interpreting what the Camaro faithful wanted in the next Camaro...
One question, now that we have seen the Coupe, when will we see my favorite, the convertible? If you need someone to evaluate one for the next few years I will step up and do it. I love my 2012, I bet the new one will kick its ass though..

My thanks also to Scott, the people at GM on the Camaro team, and to the Disciples for bringing us this new Gen 6 Camaro. I'm really impressed and can't wait to see one up close. Just waiting for the convertible to be released.
