Hi Scott, from the pictures and comments from the reveal it looks like you and the disciples did a great job with Gen 6. Thank you so much for your dedication to all of us and a big thank you to all of the disciples as well for their great insight and representing us so well.

On a personal note, both Leslie and I are glad to see you again in the forums and hope you are feeling well. We hope we can catch up with you in person soon.

I would like to thank you, as well. I had my doubts about the car, and I admittedly harbor some anger towards GM for cancelling the Fbodies in 2003. As a faithful(some would say "fanboy") GM owner, who spent as much time actually AT the track representing, as on forums amongst competition and fellow owners, it felt like a major slap in the face. We ate, drank, and slept these cars. Word of the Camaros return with the 5th Gen was....well, just indescribable. The whole car club got together and went and watched Transformers in theater just to SEE the Camaro. We all stood up and applauded when Bumblebee rolled thru that tunnel. I know I was not the only one with a tear in my eye. Ill never forget that day. But, because of being left with few options during the hiatus, my taste moved on. By the time the 5th Gen actually went on market I had developed a taste for Corvettes. The 5th Gen, NUMBERS WISE, just could not be justified for me. Too heavy. Performance was not what I was expecting.
I only say all this, to say this..... The 2016 IS WORTH IT! The 2016 is what I was waiting for in 2010. What I had hoped for. This car is spectacular. It is obvious that yall LISTENED to the enthusiests. I genuinly mean "thank you". Its hard to believe that sheetmetal and aluminum can hold such a strong place in one's heart, but I know that there are a lot of guys like me that have been waiting for this car, a long, long time.

The 6th GEN is just breathtaking in person...

Like all next gen models there are going to be people who love it, people who hate it and people on the fence. I held back all my thoughts until I was able to see it up close and in person. When the three pulled out on the stage I was sold.

The sexy lines of the body, upscale interior, color options and power-train options all make for perfect packages.

I was able to sit in the Hyper Blue RS. The rear visibility at first felt the same but when I turned my head to the left to look out the driver side window the B pillar felt like it was back a little further giving me more area to see. I still had to move the seat forward a few inches to reach the pedals comfortably, I'm 6 foot 1. The guy behind me was 6 foot 5 and had no trouble at all with overall room. I had at lest 3 to 4 inches above my head to the headliner.

The trunk is smaller width wise but deeper to the rear seats.

Overall I spent about two hours between the three and could not find anything that I did not like. If you are on the fence, wait for your final judgment until you can see it in person and put your fingerprints on everything.

KILLER74Z28 how about the view out the front. Is the dash lower or the same?

Yes, actually it would be a better car if it had a DCT. It doesn't, but makes due with a fast shifting automatic. I haven't driven GM's new 8 speed but I have driven a great DCT. And YES it would be better with a great DCT than just a great automatic.

Fbodfather, you are appreciated!!! After seeing CNBC, I was preparing my "plan B," but now I look forward to more details of the Camaro Six.

The packages are redesigned - for instance, you can get a 2LT with leather interior yet you don't have things like memory seat and a few other features forced on you.

One cool feature on the uplevel trims: the "Camaro" and insignia in the door sill lights up -- really looks cool esp at night.

I wish I could give you more 'fer instances but I don't have all my notes here - just back from meeting with them. They are your collective voice and you've collectively been heard. (........and yes I'm sure there things that a few of you wish for but didn't get - but there is little we didn't give you)

Bright Blue! We listened!

I can hardly wait for you to see the car in person and see the presence it has. It's especially noticeable when you see it next to the last gen car -- it really is an all-new Camaro that should give its owners immense pride of ownership.
I really hope there is at least one extra rear gear option. I get that the 8l90 has different ratios...but 2.77 still seems tall. 3.08 option or so would be an easy add on package and boost to the ATP.

Oh man...and it is THE perfect blue. A perfect medium blue, with metallic shine that brings out all the lines so perfectly.

I guess I'm afraid of 2001 all over again. A car with a V8 that satisfied the Disciples and Camaro faithful but resulted in a very poor V6 coupe that just didn't sell.

The comments that customers would prefer a car that looked like a Camaro rather than have improved visibility scares the crap out of me. You know the main thing Lisa hates about the Gen 5 is visibility.

I'm really liking the car a lot. I just want it to be one she loves to drive too.

It all looks very promising and I can't wait to see one in person.
I can see your concern about not being broad enough, but what could they have done? To appeal to a broader base would have meant more compromises, and likely a larger size (trunk/rear seat) which is not what the majority wants. Even outside of this enthusiast forum I believe that to be true.

Visibility is still not perfect, but it is improved in the frontal area as you already know.

I don't think you'll have to worry about having a good selling V8 model but a bad selling, inferior V6 or T4 model. I mean..that is just not the case here. The V6 and T4 are still getting just about all the bells and whistles, and they will be fantastic driver's cars as well. I know you already know this, so I don't see why you are concerned the base car won't sell.

Most have said the visibility is a little better, with the standard backup camera it's really only going to be an issue for people grasping at "flaws" to justify not liking it.

Number 3, we have the new 8 speed in our 2015 Vette. It is a really, really good transmission. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised especially if you track your cars.

make no mistake - it was not me who did the great job.

You have to have a great design -- that's Tom Peters and his talented group of designers.....

........you have to have someone to lead the troops when it comes to executing that design -- Al Oppenheiser is an incredible Chief Engineer -- and he has great talent in many people -- special mention to Jim Kalahar our Program Manager and Cheryl Pilcher our outstanding Product Manager. Todd Christensen leads up marketing. There are so many people to name..........

The Disciples simply gathered information from YOU -- and brought those wants and needs to our attention. It should be no surprise that we already had a very good understanding of your wishes because we spend time at events throughout the year listening to you. Camaro5fest is especially helpful as you (collectively) are not bashful about what you want in a great motorcar and it gives you the opportunity to meet up with us and chat.

One thing I want to stress: The Team is chock-full of Camaro Enthusiasts --- it's not just 'another job' -- we live, eat and breathe these cars....and we also drive and completely understand the competition.

The goal is to bring you the best Camaro and best in class design, engineering and performance. The success of the 5th gen should illustrate what I'm trying to say........cars like the fun-to-drive V6 ...the SS.......the 1LE and the ZL1 and the Z/28.......we're never satisfied with 'good enough'...........

Lastly - thank YOU for your love and passion for these great cars - and we dedicate the 6th gen to you and hope you'll get a chance to test drive one just as soon as they hit the streets....we think you're gonna love what the team's done.
