I'd say half the reason its considered one of the best looking trucks is that everyone else went too far with their newer models, while Chevy played it conservative. Sometimes, that's a good thing (Porsche hasn't changed up their 911 design in 60 years, why start now?) and other times, not so much.

I don't think it's real....they could just be messing with us right before it's revealed. Maybe could still change a few things by the time it's released. Remember that side view leaked a while back? Look at the space between the small window and the fender....in the pics from the news the gap is a lot smaller than the leaked photo

Inintial random thoughts In no particular order..
Homage to 69 SS hood inserts
Mitubishi EVO 10 grill(not a detraction,just an observation)
It's as soft as the C7 vette is edgy- the Klingon who designed the Vette was not on this project.
That decklid spoiler looks like it was sourced from the J.C. Whitney catalogue.
Will be interesting to see how it looks next to C5 size wise, I'm thinking It will be noticeably smaller.
Some will buy it based solely on powertrain #'s, hope they disclose the fate and timeline of the ZL, Z, and 1LE tomorrow.

Think they played it safe on this one..

But do you guys really think you are coming at this new release objectively, or accept that maybe, even subconsciously, you don't even WANT to like this new version?

Speaking only for myself, I never really liked the looks of the 5th gen. They looked bloated and heavy, with huge slab side rear fenders, like a fat a$$ on a big boned woman. The front just seemed a little too matchbox exaggerated rendering, like something we used to draw in 4th grade and pass around during class drawn with straight edged rulers. I thought the 14 update was a good step in the right direction.

Now, finally, I see the lighter more athletic version with much more proportionate lines that I wanted. I'm in. I don't have a car payment and haven't for several years. I have no compelling reason to try to get another few years out of my last purchase. As an engineer, the new powertrain and other technological improvents are impressive. They made the car I want, or pretty close to it. I think this will be one of the last of a generation of affordable performance NA V8s available for "regular" people. Lets hope the pricing and interior are up to snuff.

...and yeah, I will agree the lower grill "gaping maw" is a little over the top.
This man speaks the truth.

GM typically underrates the Camaro's motor VS the Corvette's even though it is exactly the same. When the LS1 first debuted, the Camaro and Corvette got the exact same motor with the exact same power, yet GM rated the Corvette at 340bhp and the Camaro at 305bhp. In reality, the Camaro dynoed anywhere from 10-20rwhp higher than the Corvette because the Camaro had a solid axle and the Corvette had IRS. This has been going on for literally almost 2 decades.

It doesn't matter what GM rates the LT1 at in the Camaro. It's the same motor as the Corvette.

Let's just wait until tomorrow for the official specs, folks.

What a fiasco....First they show video and pics of the car unveiled, then go to a segment with the car in full camo?....

My jaw dropped with this total anti-climatic fail....What a shame to blow the reveal....

This is wrong. Flat out made up and shoddy click bait.

No way is it down 15-20hp over the C7 when it has shorty headers the C7 does not have.

Since when does the camaro v6 with louder, more free flowing exhaust make LESS hp than the Cadillac v6.

468hp v8 (with dual mode exhaust)
342hp v6 (top trim again)
275hp turbo 4.

Those are my guesses.

Oh. I didn't know they made the NPP exhaust available for an LT in 2014. It was only available on the SS in 2013.

Good point.

Personally, I bought my 2012 after the 5th Gen refresh and specifically wanted the pre-refresh. The 6th gen takes the elements I dislike about the refresh and pushes them further (narrowed upper grill, the taillight change)....and I also like the heft of the 5th Gen, those wide hips. The 6th Gen seems to have lost some of that heft/flare to the rear.

So in a way, I sorta knew I was going to prefer what I already had, because I wasn't crazy about the direction it was going with the refresh, and I wasn't one of those folks saying they wanted a lighter/leaner Camaro.

The problem I have is it seems too soft, not edgy enough but maybe we just wait till tomorrow and see some better pics...

Maybe the 6th gen makes the 5th into an instant classic..

Time will tell..

Can they call it a refresh when it's on a new platform?
