This is really exciting for me, I've never followed a new generation from its inception before. Hell I never knew what a Camaro was before I bought my 2011, but since then I've fell in love with the heritage. I'm confident the 6th gen is going to exceed our expectations

Ah well, you see I think it goes like this. Mustang has finally caught up to the Gen 5 Camaro, with 435 ponies and the IRS. So, on May 15th, the Mustang at $1K cheaper seems like the better deal. However, on May 17th, it may look more like the difference between a steak at Chili's or steak at Capitol Grill.

Sure, my range may be a little on the high side by a few hundred bucks, but it'll be in there somewhere. I don't think GM will be too worried about being underpriced by the Mustang because I think the total value in the Camaro will be that much better. Really, I just base my numbers on pricing difference between the 2013 Corvette and the 2014 Corvette. I think it was in the 2-2.5K range.

Better value? You make no sense. Corvette wasn't even 2k more when it initially launched and it's a car that started at 50k, not 33-34. Corvette got things that Camaro won't.. Such as an aluminum chassis across the board.

Again.. thats your problem and hopefully your not kicking yourself in the arse when the car is released and you silently mouth "daaaaaammmn".

Personally carry on.. my comments were mostly aimed at the delicate ford fans. Those guys are the worst.
So you think with all of chazcron's renders and the reveal shots we can't make a very close guess that this car's origin of design is the 5th gen? The only mystery to this point is what the taillights and interior are gonna look like.
For the record: I'm not saying it'll be ugly or not a top performer, but in it's history, 1st through 3rd gens were clean sheet designs that set trends. I don't think this will follow in those footsteps. Design-wise. Performance, however, will be unmatched. Although I honestly don't think shedding 200lbs is enough to crow about, so let's hope it's more.
Losing 200lbs on my SS still leaves it at 4k, so if this SS comes in around 3500, I will be very happy.

Again...we've all been VERY aware that this car was supposed to be an evolution of the 5th gen. No surprises here.

Also....what have you done to your SS to add somewhere in the neighborhood of 300+ pounds to it? A brand new, base SS weighs just a hair over 3,900. 4,200 might be counting full fuel and you inside maybe....but that's now how cars are weighed.

3,500 lbs is a fantasy. I would expect 3,700 to 3,750...under 3,800 at worst....and again that's not with you sitting in it.

Hey Pill and Todd15Fastback.. You guys want to lie and talk shit(especially Pill, while butt buddy Ford fanboy goes along with everything)? Bring your ass over instead of just spying on the forum and twisting words, ass clowns. You guys can snip something from this as well and post it on Mustang6G.

So much shit talking about a damn Car and brand. What a joke of a person. Who has time for all that shit?

It's funny and sad. He has to be the most pathetic human being I've ever witnessed. He comes in here, takes an excerpt of my post, twists it, then passes it off as something I said and talks shit to fit his agenda all while ignoring other posts made. Lol.

Hi, Pill! I should become an idiot as well and become The Pill Camaro edition. Ahh, Nvm. I don't love GM like that or hate Ford with a passion like you hate GM. Although, while owning the Mustang, I'm starting to like Ford less.. 😊

Well I guess I should have specified the weight fully loaded as you mentioned, full tank and me. Empty it's still 3900 and change.
And while we're all VERY aware of the evolution direction of this design, my point is, I think it's a mistake. I've watched GM butcher great designs in the past decades to play it safe, and that's exactly how this feels like it's going. Playing it safe.
That said however, I still respect Ed Welburn's passion for design, so I might change my mind come Saturday.

The '13 Corvette base was 49K and change, right at 50K with destination. The '14 was 52K with destination.

Of course we don't really know yet what the Camaro is going to, or not going to get. What we can count on is that the technology isn't going to go backwards and neither is the price. Perhaps it would be more accurate to go with a % price increase than dollar amount. Perhaps something like 5%, so roughly $1,600? Which would be a great deal for adding 25HP, better handling, and assumedly an improved interior.
