A lot has changed since he was around. Namely the government safety standards dictating a lot of what is possible for design. Name one car or manufacturer that radically changes design every 1-2 years.

I love the 5th generation, so a 5th generation with a upgraded interior wouldnt disappoint me. What IS disappointing is all the HYPE for the new car if its just a reskinned 5th generation.

The greatest beauty of the Gen 6 is that it is once again made in the USA. After reading the text rather than to just focus on the tid bits of photos it is clear that function and performance have taken priority. There is mention of increased power and we already know it's going to be lighter so what's not to love? Of course those who are still making payments on the existing models might be a little critical of the new simply because of some invisible envy that might lie inside the gut. Pf course there will be little items such as the glaringly pitiful Bowtie stuck in the center of the grille where the Camaro or SS emblem should be but those things can be fixed by the aftermarket. I think we are about to see the best Camaro ever created in the coming week. I know the excitement is there are the envy from the Ford camp is praying the car falls short. Now if Chevy gives us the highest horsepower Camaro ever available they will knock it out of the park.

I agree with the above. I don't think it would be as much an "issue" if they weren't call it a new Generation. But they are calling it that and rightfully so....

All new platform, new power-plants, new interior,....certainly warrants being called a new Generation. But exterior styling, the most noticeable factor, should be new as well...I hope it stands out as different, very different, from the 5th gen.

Some of these comments are amusing at the least. Like those hating on it for being too much like a 5th gen... Can you imagine if they had brought out something completely different and it fell flat on its face??? Many people were hoping it Wouldn't be a big departure from the 5th gen... At least some people will be happy with the finished product... I say in the long run you had more people not wanting a big change than did want one and that is why they didn't go with revolutionary.

There sure are a lot of people hating on the Bowtie, it is one of America's most famous icons. That's just my opinion, I also like the gold as well.

This is exactly how I feel. I look at the car and ask myself if I like it. It's a yes or no question.

I make a list of the cars I like, drive them all, then pick the one I think is the best car for amount of money I want to spend.

For me, I liked the exterior of the 10-13 models. I don't hate the exterior of the 14-15 models, but I don't like it as much as the 10-13 models, so when combined with the sub-par interior, the refreshed 5th gens were an easy pass.

With that said, I really like chaz's renders, even though the upcoming car is clearly an evolution of a design that I don't like.

That pretty much shows everything. Hate to say it though but it reminds me of a Corolla.

Lol wouldn't it be a safer bet to say "the 6th gen looks too much like a 5th gen" AFTER you actually SEE the car? Just sayin' lol. I may be in the minority here but I personally don't mind the "evolutionary" step forward. I absolutely fell in love with the 5th gen when it was first revealed and it only got worse once I saw my first 2SS in person. When I was in the position to purchase one I just couldn't get over the weight of the zeta platform. Yes the 1LE helped out tremendously but it was still on the heavy side. Now with the 6th gen being "at least 200 lbs lighter" I can safely say that I will be taking that plunge into a new Camaro (unless there is something that puts me completely off come reveal time). I dunno, maybe I'm just lol

BTW on the subject on the new Mustang, I actually like the 11-14 better (looks wise) but feel the new s550 isn't a bad design. Anyway rant over
