I'm not saying it's a rotor. It could be anything but it does look like an extrusion to me.

The one piece is the Cross Car Beam under the IP. It does add structural stiffness to the car so it's an important piece beyond holding the steering column.
Looks like aluminum. Not the lightest as Magnesium has been used but expensive.

I was just under ours the other day installing drilled/slotted rotors and new pads. I saw nothing like that. Maybe I missed it.

My guess is the passenger airbag mounts and knee bolsters.

I like how GM is doing this...keeping it interesting for the next two months with plenty of spaced out info so we all don't go crazy...innovative.

I think they did the same thing for the ZL1. Ford did a similar thing with the GT350 but it was videos spaced over a few weeks.

No. The platform is the same but my understanding is that is more of where stuff goes and how it mounts than a physical frame, especially since the cars are unibody.

It could just be showing some of the light weight aluminum technology that will be incorporated into the new Camaro. Here is a link to info about the CT6 and all the aluminum going into it. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/03/15/c...-saves-weight/ |
