Heritic! Burn him!!

All you gotta say is GM would probably be revealing the car sooner if they were able to, and you're beggin' for trouble, mister.

Lol. I'm not saying it's not possible, but the designers can do what ever the hell they want with their last minute tweaks but unless it's repeatable it's for naught, and that only comes by virtue of trial & error, especially considering that this is a new plant anyway. Hell, if I had a dollar for every time somebody said it was impossible and we did it in a week, I'd be rich (actually I'm still poor and out of a job, contract jobs be damned)!

More than likely their trying to weasel out every inch of power from the engine. The production team though needs those tweaks finalized so they can have the engines ready for the assembly line come April. I feel for the whole team involved in this since they've been in crunch time since Q4 and every day that rolls by is that much more stressful.

*PLUGGING EARS* *YELLING LALALALALA!!! OVER ANYTHING YOU SAY*

...look, if you're just here just to spread unsubstantiated RUMORS about CATASTROPHIC problems that could result in LOST LIVES and FoMoCo changing our lunch menus to something out of a Michelle Obama school cafeteria, you can just take your HYSTERICAL LIES somewhere else!

...and, while we're at it... When did you stop beating your wife? How often were you doing it?

If this is to be a 'normal' 2016 release then you'd expect the cars to start hitting showrooms in late July/early August. If it takes a month for them to be delivered to states as far as California then that means production would have to start at latest by early June. If special orders are taken, customers should be allowed to do so at least a month in advance, which means we know about the model by early May. This is all speculation of course but if Chevy really wants to steal Ford's glow then they'll have to have the car hitting dealerships in time for summer, i.e., June and subsequently that means we know about the model in April, two months away.

If you look at other cars, the time from first camo prototypes to dealer lots is 1-1.5 years. The 6th gen was first seen in July/August. If GM is following the same kind of time frame for the 6th gen, we won't see the car for a while longer and we still have a lot longer until they are on dealer lots.

What I really think is funny, I have seen some web sites showing 2017 GT 500 camouflaged cars. The next couple of years should be interesting for us the consumer.

This is getting beyond hilarious. No one that comes on this site knows the timing. We only know small tidbits about plant and architecture.

If the car launches December/January why oh why on Gods green Earth would you show the car now? To be like Ford who is getting desperate and showing 2017 models of which the GT is nothing more than a show car?

Let me assure you all that GM has a plan. It is a plan based on data and the expertise of many people that have years and years of experience that tells them when the biggest impact is vs losing sales of the current model. All any of you have is a desire to see the car NOW.

Let me assure you there would be a thread bashing GM if they showed it now with a launch date in January. You all know this to be true.

Look, love you all for your passion which I share. BUT PLEASE STOP BASHING GM JUST BECAUSE THEY WON'T TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOOOOUUUUUUU WANT. This is just getting sad. GM is about to give us the most awesome Camaro ever and this is just a bash fest. Please stop!

That's why I'm done with this thread!! Next a person will come on here and say GM's delay on the Gen 6 reveal has caused them to buy a hot air balloon!!! Sh*t has gotten beyond ridiculous!!!

Maybe we will see it at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Wouldn't bother me, I still like my C5.

I can't help but laugh at all of the "lost sales" due to timing. I would bet anything that for every "lost sale" to another car/motorcycle/hot air balloon, there is a convert who sells their car/bike/hot air balloon to get one. The car will sell as many as it will sell. The release date of information does not change the publics opinion of the vehicle. If people like it, they will buy it. And go in debt and upside down to do so. No car has ever flopped when it was a fan favorite just because they waited a few extra months to release it. To think they have missed out on the sweet spot release date is ludicrous.

I will not pretend to know why they have waited but no one outside corporate knows. It could be any number of reasons. From a redesign to a problem to trying sell more 5th Gens before crushing the chances of selling them to enthusiasts. Who knows. But I do know this much. The vast majority of the car buying public is not aware of reveal times. Pays 0 attention to car shows. And is not represented on an enthusiasts forum. Don't believe me? Look at how many 5th Gen cars have been sold and how many members are on here. That will tell you what percent of car buyers look at release dates and the next gen.

For every enthusiast on here, there are 3 people who wander into the dealer and buy what they saw in traffic or the dealer showed them that day. In other words R... E... L... A... X... Lol
