This quote below sounds good for the Camaro. Prove it Chevy with a fully rate LT4 in a Z model

Around the MRC development track, the Z06, equipped with the Z07 package, stage three aero, and automatic, ran a 1:48 lap time. The Z/28? 1:53. This is nothing more than an attempt to encourage the internal rivalry between Camaro and Corvette engineering teams.

Actually I do! I love the looks of the car #1, I really only care about 1/4 mile performance as well as a street driven car. Everybody is different, and I have never been interested in track driving. I'm 68 years old and back in the day, street racing was almost exclusively 1/4 mile drag racing. I grew up in the muscle car era and still love my muscle machines to this day. I still have my 1964 GTO, a 73 SD455 Formula, but my modern muscle cars are my favorite: a 2000 Firehawk (being prepared for street and 1/4 mile with a 434 cubic inch LS1, 6-speed manual, 700 hp NA equipped Harrop Hurricane intake), a 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 (also being rebuilt for the 1/4 mile, also 6-speed manual) and my current daily driver, a 2012 Cadillac CTS V coupe, 6-speed manual with a few mods! Still idles @ 750 rpm like stock, but 2 weeks ago at a test and tune I went 10.85 @ 130.89 mph. The projected times for the Firehawk will be 9.90 on motor and 9.20 with NOS. The Ram should be in the low 10's with the new engine ( the stock engine dynoed at 485 rwhp with exhaust and tuning, had a best of 11.63 @ 118 mph). The new V-10 in the Ram will be in the 700 rwhp range (bored, stroked, Gen IV heads ported by Greg Good, 561 cubic inches, all NA). If I get the Z06 it will be a 3LT, base aero, 7-speed manual....and I hope to leave it pure stock. Of course I said that about the CTS V, ....and the SRT-10, .....and the Firehawk. I just love acceleration.

With the increased power of the Z06, hope we don't see more of this - which is "only" the 460hp C7.

Oh don't worry, it'll be about 35 minutes after the OKTB on the C7Z before one gets put into a jersey barrier or a tree.

My screen saver at work is the first, 1963 Z06. Amazing and sexy car!

Fuel Injected, 360 Hp, 358 lb-ft
aluminum knock off wheels
metallic brake linings
big drum fins with vented back plates an ducts
track shocks and springs on first year IRS
36 gallon fiberglass fuel tank...

Indeed! Forced induction, automatic tran and removable roof is all well and fine as long as the original Z06 objective is met.

The C7 is a big step away from that.

Holy crap this is almost a 2 second car!

Z06 definitely my next dream car. How much do you think it will cost on the used market in 2-3 years? Its the only way I'll be able to afford it.

So all the above means that the Z06 won't put up excellent numbers on a track???

Where did I say that? I never said it wouldn't be a fast car. I said it is no longer a pure track car.
