interesting..sounds like a custom for starting @ $45k. Too bad GM won't revive this division, for mid luxury & sports cars(ie T/As). I miss my '79 formula 6.6L 455cu in big block.

The new 2015 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is coming soon to the market. We can anticipate this redesign legend model to be unveiled at the end of 2014. As a part of ongoing their dominance in the sports luxury car sector, Pontiac is updating many models. The 2015 Pontiac Trans Am is one of them. Though this model is not yet out, the prototype is currently undergoing testing. Reports from the manufacture indicate this model will be available with a six-speed manual/automatic transmission.
What? That's written as if Pontiac is alive & well. Which means someone is either pretending like the brand is still around, or they don't have a clue of what they're talking about.

And why does it have previous-gen Mustang engines?
305 hp 3.7L V6
420 hp 5.0L V8
662 hp unknown size
Did someone get confused and accidentally cite the wrong car, or are they going to be reworking Mustangs into 'Firebirds', or is it someone who doesn't have a clue about what their talking about (I'm noticing a trend here)?

And even if someone is modifying Camaros (or Mustangs) to make yet another Firebird knockoff (there are already more than enough out there) ... good luck selling it with the 'Pontiac' 'Firebird' or 'Trans Am' names. Other entities own the rights to them (such as General Motors). So either they plan on paying licensing fees to use the names, or they don't have a clue about what they're talking about (I'm pretty sure I know which one it is at this point)

The only other possibilities (besides the person not having a clue about what they're talking about) that I see are:
a) that article was written as a joke or
b) the writer is delusional and actually believes that Camaros are Firebirds and somehow have Ford engines.

Regardless ... I wouldn't believe a word they say.

The white one looks nice, but the other two are too over the top. I know Pontiac had more "in your face" styling in comarison to Chevy but that is just too much.

All bullshit. They're aftermarket conversions that have been out for years. The blue one belongs to a guy in an Ontario fbody club

If it is on the Internet, it must be true.

1976 was the last year for the 455 Trans Am, as GM killed off the B-O-P 455s after that year for Buick and Pontiac but some Olds 455s were made for a few years for non-automtive use. If you had a 1979 6.6 T/A, you had a 400.

A Pontiac 400 was referred to as a "6.6". It was really about 6.56 Liters
A 455 cubic inch engine is a little over 7.4 Liters
The Buick 455 bored out to 462 in my '70 Buick is, for instance, a fair bit over 7.5 Liters

As a small point of interest, the Olds, Pontiac, and Buick 455s were not the same.
