This looks very good. I think the sideglass will all be lower on the body and that the sculpted bottom of the door will be deeper.

The rendering is very good, the lines got washed out with the color addition though. That rendering with harder, sharper lines from sheet metal will look great.

Attempt at de-camoing 6th gen Camaro (outline sketch)

Here is my first attempt at the 2016 Camaro using Photo Shop without the rear spoiler. I may add that later...

Good work! Happy to see you ditched the wing spoiler. Didn't like the wing on the 04-06 GTO either. Not attractive and a pain to the butt to dry after washing.

All of you are complaining about it looking like a 5th gen. Id rather it look like a 5th gen than it be a new look and look like complete shit. This is supposed to be an EVOLUTION. If it looks like a 5th gen, but has a new, pretty, fat little LT1 in that girl I will ride her all day. I've been waiting forever to trade in my 2011 M6 LS to get me a M6 SS (possibly 1LE) but after I heard the 6th gen may be revealed soon I decided to wait for the new girl. You guys should be happy if it looks like this. If not bite your tounge and keep your 5th gens. not

First, that is an outstanding render and I'm pretty sure that nails it.

Second, way too close to the current car. It now depends on the interior and powertrain. Seeing that puts me out but still could be swayed.

As I've said all along, going away from the 5th gen would take courage...................that if this is as spot on as I think it.............GM doesn't have. Too afraid to leave what is selling now than to worry about what is selling in 3 to 4 years from now. And in 2020, I don't believe a 5th gen styled car will work for many people.

I hope there are enough details missing in this render that will take the 5th gen as more reference than model. It needed to be more of a leap than a shuffle.

ANNND I hope I'm wrong. Just thinking ahead.

I agree. I believe that if GM makes it an entirely new design, people will not like it and sales will drop. They have been selling way more than mustangs and challengers with the 5th gen. I feel that if sales drop because of a new design, they will just discontinue camaros all together like they did in 02 :(

Not really a fan of BIG fog lamps, oversize grill openings (aka Dodge) overpowering the design. Seems unnecessary and reduces the contrast taking what used to be "accent features" to "core design elements". When they are going to be as big as hood scoops, ( or larger) they are overpowering and reduces the hood scoop "message".

The rear fender shoulders appear a bit softened as well - possibly an optical illusion that the front clip seems (with bigger than life fog and grill openings) heavier... making the transition from front to rear somehwat less "chiseled" and just bulkier overall. Time will tell.

I think "nails it" is probably too strong of a statement. I think a few angles are somewhat off, not to mention the fact that the headlamps and fogs/LEDs will be completely different than that rendering shows. Sure, those are smaller things in the overall grand picture, but they still make a huge difference.

We also aren't sure what the tail will look like yet.

All of that makes a big difference in a car that is supposed to be an evolutionary design. Come reveal time, we will all know. Until then (unless we have uncovered spy shots) nobody will be 100% sure unless they are just dead set on not owning a car that looks anything like a 5th gen Camaro.

If the car has fantastic performance, which it should, and a vastly updated/improved interior, that is more than enough to sway buyers (including myself) into desiring a 6th gen Camaro.

How many of you out there feel the 6th gen Corvette was a dud because it was too close in design to the 5th generation Corvette? You don't hear that much at all, and most would probably agree that the 6th gen Vette is still a good looking car, albeit nothing more than an evolution of the 5th.

That is what GM is doing here. It can work, and if the car is good enough, it will work.

And look how mediocre C6 sales were. GM went bold wih the new design of the Stingray and it is selling like crazy. That's why I have faith that they can get the styling right. The Stingray is the perfect balance between evolution and revolution. It was dialed in perfectly.
