No, it doesn't. You just said yourself that there were few changes between the model years. That means it isn't getting redesigned each year. Therefore, the design of the 2011 dates back to the 2006 model. Its the same story with my car. Its a 2005 model, but the design is the same as the 1999s were. As such, I expect it to be typical of GM designs of the late 90s, not mid 2000's.

By his logic I still have a fairly new GM product since the GMT-360s went virtually unchanged for the entire 2002-2009 production run and my 11 year old car should be indicative of GM in 2014.

From Mark Reuss:

CT6 is 24kg lighter than CTS, 8 inches longer.

Rear view mirror will integrate backup camera to "see through" rear seat/headrests.

PHEV model with 75 MPH max EV speed, sub 6 second 0-60.

Very interesting.

The weight is impressive, undercutting the 7 series (which I assume is what its aimed at) by something like 500 lbs. And the 7 series is the lightest in that class (that I know of).

And I'm not sure what to make of that backup camera. What I would really like to see is a car where I can turn my head around & not see a gigantic back end obscuring my view. Lower the belt line, flatten the trunk and all of a sudden it becomes a whole lot easier to see out of.

What did they do to shave the weight?? Interesting indeed. Will the 8" stretch make it as long as a 7-series? What about width? I wonder if the CT6 is shaping up to be a Gran Coupe, CLS size competitor with a CT8 on the horizon? As it stands the ATS and CTS are a tad smaller than their 3-series, 5-series counterparts, most notably in rear seat space.

Manufacturers seem to love these high belt-line, swept designs that make rear-visibility an afterthought...and now we need rear view cameras to compensate.

3.0L Twin-Turbocharged V6 for CT6, will be most powerful V6 in segment.

70 MPGe for PHEV model.

Just V6 or all 6 cylinder engines in general? I ask because I know that straight 6s are somewhat common among the German luxury marques ... though I have no idea who uses what.

Is the 3.0 a brand new engine?

I wonder if the drop in displacement is to help strengthen the block to handle a lot of boost.

Same thing happened on the Chevy SS.... Nothing changed.. Commodore was just fine.
