Ford openly said a long time ago that they were moving away from the retro themed design language that drove the 2005 to 2014 Mustangs design.
Just like the 2014 Camaro refresh, the 6th generation Mustang has taken some time to grow on people, myself included. Now that the design has been out in the open for about 10 months I think you will find a lot of people liking it. for the record, the design is more European then Japanese influenced |

The S197 in '05 wasn't exactly an aggressive looking beast. But over the years via additional models, the 2010 MCE, and the 2013 refresh, it grew into the aggressive design now favored by many. I can see S550 progressing in the same pattern.
Some have said that S550 has a certain air of SN95 to it, and personally I find that appealing. But, to each their own.

The part that I don't like the most is the wrap around headlights. The rest of it isn't that bad.

The convertible in that charcoal color looks good along with the better roof line as compared to the coupes.

I love the new Mustang even more after seeing it in person. To me it's currently the best looking inside and out of the three standard v8 models. I can't wait to see what the top V8 model will look like.

That is a slick looking car for sure. Like any generation change, some will order it sight unseen and then go can I cancel and get the previous Gen. The end of the S197 to me was the best looking Mustangs. I might change my mind to see the S550 car in person, time will tell.
