Just built one real quick, looks like my Colorado would come out to 36K (35,905), vs the F-150 I built with comparable options coming out to 38K with incentives on Ford's build and price website comes to 35,750...BUT I would be looking at a 15 or 16 F-150 with the 2.7 ecoboost

( F150 Extended cab vs Colorado crew cab so I will take that into account I need to see interior dimensions on the Colorado to compare. I think I could live with a extended cab or double cab in a full size, but midsize needs the Crew Cab. There is a bit more room in the Colorado Crew cab vs Ford Extended Cab. the Colorado has 2 inches more of leg room, but the Full size has more hip and shoulder room)

It is going to be a tough decision. Can't wait to get out there drive both, and do a ton of research. This will be the vehicle I intend on keeping the longest

I checked GMC and they aren't up yet.

My Colorado optioned out is 36,950

A 2014 LTZ Z71 Silverado, optioned as close as I could make it to the Colorado is 48,330. (Crew,short, 5.3, ltz plus, nav)


Interesting to see how much under MSRP you can get the new Colorados for. May narrow that 11.5k price gap.

Something to make a note of, I looked at the interior dimensions of the Colorado Crew cab vs a F-150 Extended Cab and a Silverado Double cab. here is what I found

Unless that extra .4 or 1.7 inch of leg room in the Colorado vs Silverdado/F-150 is crucial you wouldn't really have to compare it crew cab to crew cab. you can compare the Colorado Crew Cab to a full size double cab or extended cab. I didn't realize that till this morning when I looked at the interior dimensions of each truck and realized how close the Colorado crew cab is to a full size extended cab. A full size crew cab adds about 6 inches of leg room

I'm going to assume that is the 2wd crew cab, as if you look at this page, Chevy has posted a direct comparison to the Tacoma:

Thats pretty much exactly what I figured it would be, with 4x4 likely coming in at 24 or 25 mpg highway.

Priced out a decently optioned crew 4x4...comes in at around 35 - 37 grand depending on if I wanted the luxury package or not.

Its too bad the 4x4 option is like $4,500 dollars...thats a large difference, and for me (only probably need it a few times during the year in the winter) thats a lot to swallow.

Locked differential 2wd and some weight in the back might be good enough lol.

built mine came out to 35k even just about but I can let go of the Navi and bose to shave a grand off. So I guess that means if I want a diesel next year with the same options it will be about 38k is a guess.

Little disappointed this thing costs 35000 for what I would want (4wd crew cab lt). Guess I'm going to have to find something cheaper or hope they heavily discount these like the silverados. I'd be a buyer at around 28000.

I just checked and the Colorado is up on the GMsupplierdiscount.com site as well for those of us lucky enough to qualify for that.

My guess is the Ford F150 will equal or surpass 26. GM better be holding back on announcing 30 plus for the 4 cylinder.
