Was the car factory tune? 93 octane gas? Automatic or manual? No disrespect intended, just trying to understand.

I've seen it written here that the auto will be quicker but I don't see the transmission specified on these reports. Based on the power to weight ratio, I don't see how it can be 11.2 based on what factory or heavily modified 500s and ZL1s have run.

Lingenfelter ran 10.794 @ 134.36 MPH on April 18 2012 with a ZL1 making 722 hp and 651 lbs-ft at the wheels with drag radials and 109 octane racing fuel.

So how does a manual Hellcat weighing 280 lbs more run as fast with skinner tires and less power?

I drove a friends 45th Anniv Camaro, 6-speed, supercharged 730 rwhp for him. It had drag radials. It was only my second pass in the car. His brother had a twin 45th Anniv with a 6-cyl and wanted to run next to me, we were not picking on the 6 cyl. The first 17 seconds of the video are blank, so keep watching.....enjoy.

LOL So much for those skinny 275's being useless with that much power and Tq. Id say them being adequate enough to get it down the 1/4 in 11.2 sec is pretty damn useful.

big difference between 730rwhp and 730hp. I would expect more from 730 at the tire , but I have never raced a car that heavy so i'm spoiled i guess

I'm still doubting a Hellcat @ $59,999. But if it's true, I'm buying one.

going by the sound in the video and the fact that the Ass Monkey guy has both hands on the steering wheel after the launch i deduce the Hellcat had the A8 in it. and because Lingenfelters car should have gone 10.2 with that much power

ResumeSpeed is THE source when it comes to mopars. He's never wrong.

He stated $59,990. Though it wasn't clear cut. Think some mind games are being played.

No way they will price this car in the 50's. No way, but if he ever comes out and says outright "The Hellcat will be priced @ $59k" you better believe that's what it will be.

I can promise you he wasn't the one to drive that car to a 10.8. That wasn't the actual pass.

Its still up in the air.

Initial rumors said it was the 6 speed that ran a 10.8 before frying the clutch. All they said was the auto was faster. Everyone doubted the 10 sec pass entirely. Now those rumors are proven true.

The new rumor. Auto went 10.5 on a drag radial at almost 130...

I have not seen any details on this car other than what has been posted, some people in the know have said

Hellcat will have 700hp no one believed it, some people on the Camaro and Challenger forums said no way,

Hellcat will be in the 10's again no way that this huge barge will do that and that it would not outrun a GT500.

Hellcat will have better track manors, well now we will have to wait and see.

Price there is very good info that the base price will be around 60k so again wait and see.

so far this car has blown past what everyone has expected, still some people that are not satisfied.

Hellcat ran a 10.85 on a DR have not seen to many cars running a 10's on just a DR. Most people that have the ZL1 or the GT500 will burn the tires off and put DR's on those cars, will some little add ons I see a car that can do 10.5 or lower

Hellcat as far as I have seen was a auto and I would think stock, Dodge has posted the track times if this is a ringer then there will be a lot of people upset when there Hellcat runs 12

so they would not have shown those times and posted all the info the way they have, it is like a challenge here this is the Car and these are the times come get this car and take it to the track.

I think the Hellcat is totally badass. But.....

-It's still a Dodge
-It's still a Challenger
-You wanna track this beast?

Really surprised after reading endless reviews of the Camaro SS and how HUGE it is and how hard it is to drive "quick" and make corners, change angles, etc. In my limited time in the seat so far, it's a grand tour car most of the time, but when I decide to get "froggy" I was really shocked how well it turns and handles. Never drove a 1LE or ZL-1 (or the lucky few that have a Z/28) but mine is unreal as is, and those cars must be sick.

Would like to test drive the Hellcat, but just seems like the Viper; wild overkill on a car that cannot win it's segment. Sales #'s don't lie.
