If history repeats itself, it will have the LT1 for sure. What happens a year after the corvette gets the new V8? 1992 corvette gets the old LT1, 1993 Camaro gets it. 1997 Corvette gets the LS1, 1998 the camaro gets it. Pure speculation of course. Nobody outside of GM knows anything like Fbodfather said.

Back then the Camaro was still dead, so GM releasing the Camaro design to increase excitement way ahead of time was OK and worked great. Now they can't do that, and the new design will stay under wraps until GM is ready (or someone exposes it early) Is it possible that some small part of the Camaro in TF4 could make it to the new car? Sure. Is that car THE new car? No way.

Whatever the future holds for the 6th generation Camaro, I know a few things have to be addressed. ..
1. Weight The car has to shed some weight. The 2015 Mustang is anywhere from 200-300 lbs lighter. Chevy has to simply find a way to cut weight in order to stay in competition with the new Mustangs. 2. 4 cyl turbo Ford has equipped a 2.3l EcoBoost engine in its new Mustang. Should run low 13s with the smaller platform and lighter car. Just wondering what 4 cyl turbo will Chevrolet go with with the new Camaro.

2. LTG would be the best option.

Using the ATS Coupe Platform would be perfect as it will easily hit the 200 lbs lighter target to be competitive with the Mustang. |

Pretty sure the car was shown before the movie. NAIAS January 2007. Movie followed July 3rd 2007, and Bumblebee was based on that show car.

Wasn't that the 2006 NAIAS? I thought the convertible was shown in 2007.
