Engine sign on and engine not starting form key?

Hi guys,

As I was leaving work today, I tried to start the car from my key. But it wouldn't start. So I got in the car, and flipped the key to turn the engine on. It turned on, and everything seemed normal. The only problem is that the engine light was on :/. I have had the car for over two years now, and I am not sure if the car not starting from the key is because the key is running out of battery, or if there is a problem with the engine.

I wanted to turn it on with the spare key, but I realized it's at my parents place .

Do you guys know what may be going on? I will check it out tomorrow morning, and I may pass by the service center later.

Thanks

The car will not remote start with a CEL. Get the CEL resolved and your car will return to normal.
