According to the chief Engineer on Mustang, it will happen. But expect a low production, big buck car like the Z/28.

You think he would say otherwise?

I don't doubt Ford can build something awesome but will they let the engineering team do what they need to in order to match the Z/28?

He could have said nothing, or wait and see in answer to me. But he didn't.

GMs new lineup is now on equal footing with the current ford lineup. The exception being the new 6.2. Guess what though 2015 F150 is months away from hitting dealerships. If the rumors of weight savings are true that alone will top GMs MPGs rating. Not to mention the power trains are also going to receive some updates. So once again GMs trucks will be behind.
gm's 6.2 offers significantly more power than the EB and the same fuel economy. poor ford. always behind.

True, the *new* EcoTec3 6.2 out powers the current 3.5EB. Buy one simple thing you're not thinking of is that Ford will need little more than a retune of the 3.5 to match or even top the 420/460 offered by the 6.2L. It might not gain any higher mpg numbers, but the weight loss could keep them at the same level offered now, just with more power on tap. With the 2.7EB more than likely taking the role as choice engine for the mpg minded Ford buyer; the 3.5EB can now more easily tuned for performance, as opposed to tuning for most power while preserving mpg.

But who knows? We'll all just have to wait and see. But, either way, speculating is always fun.

Edit: is this still a GT350 thread?

So were any new specs or information released yet or are we still speculating that it will weigh 2200lbs and fly to the moon on pump gas?
