wrong decals?

Does it bug anyone else to see cars with the wrong decals? There are a few around here that I always see and think those aren't right. For example there's a 2006 mustang with the two corvette grand sport hashes on the fender, a 5th gen camaro with the stripes all the way down the bumpers and across the roof, and a purple dodge charger with a camaro front clip and Chevy bowtie emblems.

It bugs me to see muscle cars from the 60s and 70s done incorrectly. I remember what details go where on most of them, and it irks me that many "restoration" shops don't do their due dilligence when detailing their work.
Seems the owners of these cars are either clueless, or weren't born when these cars were on the road the first time around.

I think some shops just don't care, they are worried about how long it would take to do it right, and how much that would cut into profit. I wasn't born when most of the muscle cars were around. But I know camaro stripes stop on the hood with a pinstripe around them, mustang stripes go over the whole car, and at a glance a 67 camaro has a wing window and round wheel wells, 68 has round wheel wells minus a wing window, and 69 has elongated wheel wells and an extra body line down the side. I think maybe I was born in the wrong era lol

decals don't bother me as such... it's "Up Badging" that is my pet peeve! You know SS badges or GT badges on V6s... Cobra badges on non-Cobras... etc.

Same here, I have seen emblems in the wrong locations, even SS emblems upside down, another thing is on the 69 Camaro non RS, people won't paint the metal portion around the grill opening body color, they leave them black. If your going to spend $40K to restore a car makes sure you get those details correct.
Example is this 69 Z/28, grill emblem is in the wrong location in the grille and they didn't paint the grill surround body color.

I can't say too much about that, kind of guilt myself. Got a 2001 v6 firebird with v8 style rims, 275/40/17s like a v8, cross drilled rotors, and dual exhaust. But then again no badges were changed and i bought it that way lol

I'm fine with style items like whees, fascia, etc.... it's emblems that are my peeve... LOL! Like the guy that goes to the trouble of changing his trunk emblem to a GT emblem but yet has the obvious sign of a V6, the single exhaust...LOL

Stripes has nothing to do with anything! They're just stripes! You're talking about the pacecar stripes!

No its a 2010 transformers edition clone, or at least I hope its a clone. Kept seeing it at the bodyshop with all the Autobot badging and was trying to determine if it was real. Then I went by and they had the hood and trunk off. Now it has different rear spoiler and the stripes go all the way over the car. Knowing mine is a real transformers edition I know his stripes are the wrong ones now.

And to me yeah those stripes don't make sense on a camaro. Traditionally speaking stripes on the roof is more of a ford thing. At least in my experience could be wrong though lol when I see them I think Shelby not camaro

Do a quick Google image search that just says "Shelby", then do another one that says "z28 stripes" since that's what are stripes are based on and you'll see what I'm talking about. Most stop on the hood or at the grill and none on the roof. Just a little explanation as to why my opinion is wat it is lol

As far for the Mustang with the grand sport stripes (Hash Marks). Hash Marks were developed by race teams to distinguish between team cars. Used by many car manufactures. My opinion, Stripes are stripes, make the car as you wish. What would bother me is SS badges on a V6
