It comes from competition in sales and racing from many decades of rivalry.
Ford and Chevy were the biggest makers for a long time. Their faithful owners have always engaged in the "my dad can beat up your dad" routine. Could be worse. You could be a Buick fan, and see how everyone assumes Buick never made anything but Electras and Roadmasters, and that because you own a Buick, it's not a muscle car because: Buick. I'm a GM guy and my favorite car is a '66 GT40 MKII

I guess you can say its passed down from generation from generation my dad is gm guy and so am I and so was his father but I as grew up I learned more about all types of cars and the history of them and now I don't hate ford really and its more their owners I hate than the company and the cars themselves. But everybrand has is fanboys and fanitics.

I wouldn't say I hate Fords. I playfully pick on my friends who own them. Friendly rivalry. I love cars and respect other car lovers.
Besides, my parents' neighbor has a beautiful blue 2013 SVT 20th anniversary mustang shelby GT500. Pristine.

It was always a friendly competition between Ford & Chevy. My dad was always a Chevy/GM guy & my uncle Bailey was a Ford guy. I remember them having friendly "arguements" over the brands. No one ever got mad but no one ever changed their mind either. What I don't understand is why today folks get so butt-hurt & mad over it. Why can't we just enjoy the friendly banter like they did?

I don't hate. I joke a lot, especially with a good friend of mine out in Cali...he has a 5.0 GT/CS. Back in the day, we used to race our cars like we were young and dumb.

I've owned many GM cars and they were great. My 1970 Chevelle SS was one of my favorites. You guys can run down my Rustang if you want. I have thick skin.

No hate, just a playful rivalry.
When I was in high school, one of my best friends got a '00 silver v6 mustang and I got a '99 silver v6 camaro. It was a great rivalry, we raced a lot (on and off track, i was young and stupid) and in the end we did nothing but build more respect for each other's cars. Now he has a '98 Cobra with a new built motor awaiting a supercharger and I have a '14 SS on the way. |

Grew up in a family that is biased to one brand, but I never understood the reason. I'm loyal to whoever has the best car that is in my price range. However, I refuse to drive import cars, ironic given what I just said.

I definitely don't hate Ford, I've had 3 Mustangs, a 68, 91 and 07.
I also had an 82 Camaro, 87 Firebird Formula, 06 G6 GTP Coupe and I have 2013 Camaro. I just like the Camaro better this time around.
