Even the short amount of time consoles did do backwards compatibility, it was never consistent and never worked quite the way it was supposed to. There were some PS1 games the PS2 couldn't play. There were a lot of PS2 games the supposedly backwards compatible version of the PS3 couldn't play. When the 360 launched, Microsoft had to release compatibility packages for each individual original XBox game. It's more of a hassle than its really worth, and its only worth it to those who trade in their consoles to get a discount on the new consoles.

You do know that there are quite a bit of 360 games you cant "trade" due to online passes? I never did quite understand the fuss about the trade restrictions on the XB1 as they are really already in affect for current gen games.

A less powerful console with a camera that spies on you and takes up huge amounts of system resources? Gotcha. I could see where that would be a better value than a game console that is faster and supports remote play (granted, only if you have a Vita). Of course, for $50/yr you get the privledge of watching netflix (plus the cost of the netflix annual subscription), and the ability to play multiplayer...Whereas for $50 a year with PS+ they give you more free games than you could possibly play...But hey...Yeah that $499 looks like a good deal.

They chose not to do night racing in F5 because it would jeopardize making the launch date. Sucks a bit, but I'm not really going to miss that anyways.
