The only time I ever scrape is when I'm going into my home neighborhood and have more than 2 people in the car. The speed bumps going into my home neighborhood are rather tall and are gradual so when at the peak, the car will scrape. But this only happens on one specific one because it's bigger than the rest. But I simply just take it at a slight angle and problem solved. It's no big deal to me really. I have never scraped in other instances. But then again, after awhile you learn how to drive a lowered car. When you see something that might just scrape, you learn to take it at an angle or avoid it all together.

Edit: to explain what I'm talking about, I added a picture of the type of speed hump I scrape in my neighborhood. Now, after looking at that one, the ones in my neighborhood are substantially taller and slightly longer in length. I have seen the type in the picture all over town here and have no problems with those whatsoever.

I moved my sub and amp around in my trunk and while re-wiring I touched the ground wire of the converter to the remote port of amp. I heard a "short" and now the converter won't turn the amp off. What do I do?

Everything else still works. So the amp is fine.
My only idea is that the converters "auto-shut off" shorted itself out.

Oh god those speed "humps" are a nightmare in a low car. I have been in my dads corvette while he was driving through a neighborhood here in Tallahassee that had the ones you are describing and it was just horrible.

For the way I drive my Camaro now I am not worried about being lowered it's just that when I move out I might need to start using the camaro as a daily driver and thats what gets me nervous. I don't know where I will end up and what happens if I need to go through a steep garage like Jewel has to on a daily basis. I know if I drove my camaro to work right now I wouldn't be able to go lower without scraping just because of the way the streets are downtown.

You guys must have some really different streets then? My car is a daily driver and I have been all over the city and have never scraped my car here. It's just those speed humps I mentioned. I have been into steep parking lots, and no scraping. All sorts of street types, no scraping. Up and down hills, no scraping. Hell I even go into the driving range with my car and to get to the golf driving range, you have to basically go down a super steep drop. Then it flats out abruptly, and then you have to go up the same super steep incline to get to the other side. What possessed individual decided to make the entrance like that is beyond me but that's the only time I ever said "oh s**t I'm not going to make it but I took it slow and nothing scraped at all"

I am worried about lowering my car there are plenty of places where I can see it being a problem.

I don't think I'll be as worried when I lower mine. Being privileged to be able to drive my dads Zo6 around (with how lowered it is, even ah stock height) it will definitely gave me experience driving a lowered car.

Just got to take it slow, never had a problem here.

You should see how bad it is getting out of the parking garage at my dad's work. He was able to do it in the Vette but it had to be at an extreme angle and even then it scrapped. Heck his old HHR (which isn't low) would bottom out daily. I also have a co worker that has a Vette and he can't take the direct way to work Because the street dips pretty low at a certain intersection.

I scrape the Cruze from time to time but it's mainly when I'm not paying attention when I leave a garage or driveway

Great advice. It's what I'd say to someone who was barely learning to drive a lowered car.

There's not much to help with. You probably shorted something out so it doesn't work?

Oh man I'd love to see pics of things like this. I don't think we have very many places where this happens here in Texas. Well at least not any I can think of in the places I've been to. There's maybe one street where it dips here but just slowing down a bit is fine.

Don't know Why I remembered this now but there is a hill here in Tallahassee at a Walmart that I attempted to do in the Cruze and let's just say I rolled all the way back down

It was not worth burning my clutch.

Here is a picture of the a google street view of the hill now it doesn't look very steep but trust me it feels like your going up a roller coaster lol

Edit: let me just say I could have done it but after starting and seeing how I had to hold the clutch at the friction point to get it rolling I decided against it. I wanted to show a friend I could do it without an Ebrake Because he didn't believe it was possible I got it going and didn't roll back.
