If it's that kind of relationship, get hers FIRST.

My wife gets whatever she wants...with the understanding that if we ever hit rock bottom financially, priority of funds expenditures is as follows:

1) Fund, at any cost, anything needed to keep the 1LE operational. That includes loan payment, insurance, and operational costs (fuel etc.).
2) Fund, with any/all remaining cash, any "required" modifications for 1LE.
3) Fund, if possible, anything needed to sustain the absolute lowest quality of life (food, water, healthcare, clothing, etc.)

Lots of good posts here. As far as cars that are toys are concerned, right now we have a Solstice and Camaro SS. I sort of view the Solstice as her toy, but she hasn't driven it much since our son was born. The reason the conversation came up, is that I was either 1) considering trading my '10 SS for a new 1LE or 2) trading the Solstice (and maybe Camaro) for a new Vette. I think she is just annoyed with the fact that I seem to have gotten into a habit of buying a new sports car every 3-4 years....which I agree is a valid point. But I'm also in the frame of mind that we better enjoy stuff now while we can.

Our relationship doesn't work that way. When we discussed the upgrade she said to get whatever I want because as long as I'm happy then she's happy. The only thing she demanded was that I get it in RED! I simply replied with "yes, dear."

A 2013 dodge challenger SRT8. In all fairness there was no agreement or say on my part, her masters degree in psychology is what earned that car

Even though I'm the only one that drives it, mods it, cleans it, and makes the payment it is still ours... She still gets whatever she wants.

I maybe can't get her a huge $$$ item but she gets about everything she wants\needs. She wants a new Jeep Cherokee when her lease is up (conveniently about 3- months before my lease is up) so I want to surprise her with a new one and already told her I will help her with the increase in payments. This should butter her up for me getting my dream car of a ZL1.

My question is besides walking in a paying cash, driving home and putting a bow on it, how do you go about turning in your wifes lease and buying a car for her. Does it go in my name and then will that effect me buying my car a few months later. Of course I want to surprise so she cant be there to sign or whatever!

I have till June but was just wondering on how I could pull something like this off!
