Not as excellent as you think. I tried it once a few years ago. The rubber band slides along the top and stretches. When it snaps back to the way you had it, it slings paint everywhere causing a mess. What I do is take a paint stirrer and with one hand hold the stirrer over the can and with the other hand use the paint brush.

I don't think the milk in the chips ahoy thing is a great idea how are you supposed to get all the milk out unless you all the cookies its still gonna have a milky residue

It doesn't work on the new containers anyway. The walls between the cookies have opening at the ends so the milk won't stay in one section like in the pic.
