It doesn't surprise me. As the fuel requirements become more stringent, there will be a need to reduce the engine sizes in order for the company to be compliant. I am not sure if they will reduce the size of their engines that drastically in 2 years, but on the other hand we've seen drastic changes in car engine output and size before, such as in the mid seventies.

I hope they don't screw up the Z06 by doing that. That is truly a great car that will be hard to top no matter what they do. I believe it to be the best all around vette ever. They have to stay N/A to keep it great.

I'd be pretty surprised if that engine actually landed in the Vette for either the Z06 (Z07?) or ZR1.
I still feel that between 500 - 550 N/A HP for the Z06 would get the job done.

It's been called a Z06 for a long time. They're not going to up it 1 every generation.

If they want to make a TT Corvette, call it something else like how they changed the ZL1 name. They knew that didn't represent the Z/28 badge. |

I agree that it makes sense to continue using the Z06 moniker vs Z07, as its more well known if for no other reason. However ... there would be a certain charm in a 7L C7 Z07. If they ditch the 7L engine though, for maybe a new 396 or 402 (6.5L-6.6L) or something -still naturally aspirated, then keep the Z06 moniker. If they go forced induction, drop the name as it would no longer fit the spirit of the car IMO.

Not 100% sure, but I think that small volume manufactures are exempt, or at least have to meet a different set of emissions requirements than the big ones do.
