So I know I probably shouldn't be posting this, but I just need to let it out.

I'm going to keep the names private.

We've been extremely close to this family for years. We're always over at their house for holidays. Well the daughter is in college and a model. She's extremely successful. We saw her yesterday. And we even talked to her. Everything seemed fine. She seemed normal.

A little over an hour ago, my mom gets a call from the daughter. The daughter is screaming and crying about how she doesn't want to live anymore and that she just wants to die. My mom tries to calm her down and ask where she is and such. The daughter just keeps crying and saying that she's going to kill herself, then hangs up. At this time, mom gets a call from her mom telling her that they've called the cops and don't know where the daughter is. My mom starts trying to call the daughter back constantly. It would go straight to voicemail.. Then ring once or twice.. then back to voicemail. After about the second try, it would ring for a while before going to voicemail. My mom leaves her a voicemail begging her to call her back, and that she'll come and get her and even let her stay at our house for as long as she wants. At this point, my mom and I get in our cars and set out to find her. Maybe we'd find her car somewhere. While we're driving, me and my mom are on the phone to give updates to each other. My mom decides that she's going to try to call her some more.

She calls her and after two rings, a man answers the phone. It's a cop. The daughter purposely ran head on into a concrete pole and that she was unresponsive. It was a suicide attempt. Mom tells me to go home, and she heads out to the accident.

Within 10 minutes, they had her in the helicopter on her way to Tampa General Hospital in Downtown Tampa. My mom had to take her mom to the hospital.

Right now she's at Tampa General and is currently in a cat scan. Her condition is unknown.

What I've learned from this is that you never know what's going to happen tomorrow. Someone who seems in love with life can be gone just like that.

Wow I'm so sorry! That's horrible!! Hopefully she'll make a full recovery and have a new outlook on life.

Damn. I hope she pulls through.

I've had to work with depressed/suicidal friends before but luckily I can say it's never reached that point with any of them. It's a really bad feeling knowing someone doesn't want to live anymore.

Thanks. I hope she never does anything like this again. If that cop didn't get there fast enough, she would've been dead.
