Dave Hester--- not a dick!

So, Dave was at storage action near my house the other day. My wife and I went ANYHOW, but weren't about to give him any love. We figured that if we even interacted with him, we'd give him a taste of his own medicine.

However... turns out, the guy is really nice. He was fun to be around, he joked, and was very polite.

We didn't discuss anything show- related (that's sort of poor form). But, we came away convinced that his on- show persona, the guy we love to hate, is merely scripted.

They fired him because he stated the obvious which was the lockers were staged... with specifics to make it look like there is money to be made. He put out there and they ditched him.

A lot of reality shows are fixed nowadays so kinda hard to pick the somewhat true reality ones. I do like count's customs and Top shot. Nice to know it was a character cause he acted way too full of himself on the show but I guess all shows need a bad guy.

I think "Pickers" is staged also. Too much artificial pricing dickering to me.

Eh I don't think so...It's not like they are making tons of money on lucky finds. I think all that is pretty legit. I met the whole cast at Cavalcade in Cincinnati (National Car Show) and they were all legit. Same on TV as they are in real life. Daniele is even sexier in real life

Reality shows are ALL fixed to a contrived outcome. That's why I don't watch them. If you think otherwise...well, you just don't live in reality.

The only reason they produce them is because 1) they're way cheaper than traditional shows, 2) they suck unsuspecting people into them thinking they're "real", and oh yeah, repeating that 3) they're way cheaper to produce than traditional shows. 1 and 3 being the main reasons.

Have you ever been to any of their shops? I have been to the Nashville store and they have many of the items they show being picked. The prices they have on them are in like with what they say they will ask for them too.
Some may be scripted but the actual picking I say is real.
