Big engines

How do you guys think a potential Hemi 6.1 or 6.4L will compare to Chevy's 6.2L LS3 or Ford's possible 6.2L they are thinking about putting in the 2010-2012 Mustang? I'm getting kind of worried about Ford's and Dodge's big engines...what do you guys think?

I have a feeling that the camaro will be the litest of either ford or dodge so I wouldn't worry. Also we don't know if a DI LS3 is in the works or not.

i wouldn't worry.

if things get ugly enough, chevy can always take some metal from their ZO6 or ZL-1 and the mopar and mustang fans will run for the hills. the Camaro is being tuned with beating out dodge and ford in mind. The fact that Camaro comes out last just works to their favor, they can see the results that these two put forth with challenger and mustang, as if they set the bar. and of course, Camaro is here to raise the bar.

Displacement isn't the only factor. GM has turned towards supercharging, like Ford. Dodge has not done that yet. The current 6.2L SC engines from GM can trump the GT500 and SRT8 mills for now. If they improve, I'm sure the General will try to trump somehow. Performance wars are great news for us. Given current industry trends and new regulations, the answer may lie not in more horsepower, but less weight, better transmissions, better tires, etc.

Don't worry. GM WON'T settle for second best.
