FYI, to PM go to the page of the person you want to PM and there will be a pop-down menu called "Send Message" on the left corner beneath the profile picture that will give you the option of posting a visitor message or a private message.

Or, click (tap) on the name of the person in the thread and select the send private message option in the pop-down menu
