What are you doing in college? Graphic work? Video editing? Photos? How big is the music library? What apps are you going to use? The answers to these questions determine the space you need. I'm running only 256gb and I think it's too small. 512 should be good.

Lowest on MBP with ought retina is 750gb but you can switch to 500 SSD for $540. Is the difference between a regular hard drive and a SSD one needed?

If you get the SSD it will run as fast as an iPad. It turns on in like 8 sec lol

You're overpaying on all of those. You can get a good ultrabook for less. You don't need a TB of space. I have over 6,000 songs and that's slightly over 30gb. You don't need to have an ssd unless you want it. Only difference it's going to make is booting.

If you are going in for nursing, all of these are major overkill. I have an air. I love it. The SSD is amazing to me. I guess I don't really understand why you need 8GB of ram. My air has only 4GB, and I run engineering simulations.
