Try that in Md and YOU WILL certainly get a ticket and the fines are doubled and or tripled.

You generally won't get a break like that from a Texas state trooper. I was heading to our old deer lease with a buddy who is a cop. He was doing 8 over when the trooper pulled him over. When asked for his info my buddy showed his badge along with the license and said to the cop " I was hoping for a little professional courtesy". Without a blink of an eye the trooper said " I believe it would be the courtesy of a professional not to break the law"" and proceeded to write the ticket. That was over eight years ago and I still make fun of him for that one.
