That would lead me back to Nitrous. They probably removed the controller which may have been in the fender well or under the hood somewhere. There is a hole in the firewall to feed wires through that normally has a rubber plug in it. It's directly under the master cylinder slightly toward the drivers fender. The wires might be run through there.

disconnect the switches, cover the wires and see if anything changes, if not just leave them disconnected and forget about it.

dude I think I remember what this car had for one of the buttons. I THINK one button was for the heated side view mirrors. turn them on and feel the mirrors to see if they have gotten any hotter in like 5 minutes.

line lock is def my vote also, look up on passenger side of inside fender, see if there is a solenoid that has wires and a brake line that runs back to the abs brake system..look similar to this pic..the gold part is the solenoid

to test to see if there is a line lock:
go to somewhere thats an open space hold the breaks while you switch the switches let go of the breaks try to drive your front breaks will be locked and u will be able to spin the tires easily by just guning it. these are used mostly for the track before you go |

Lights, spray, cut outs or line lock. I'm betting line lock.

This is all fishing in the dark. You need to trace the wires. They may have been cut at some point and do nothing.
