I'm in Afghanistan too! But i'm not DOD. I'm Department of Army as a UAV Operator.

OP - best of luck with your ticket. I know I've been burned doing the same thing, but not at 100.

Where US 30 goes from Ohio to Indiana the speed limit drops 5 MPH. (65 to 60) So everyone coming INTO Indiana who doesn't know (or isn't paying attention, or in a hurry to get home) will maintain going a comfortable 7 MPH over, so you end up getting a ticket for 72 in a 60. Happened to me twice in a week.

I plan on using the 'speed warning' thing on my ZL1 when it shows up. There's a stretch of highway around Fort Wayne that is a divided highway from the start to finish with no where for a trooper to sit. I'll get in trouble on that highway in my ZL1. I topped out my caprice 9C1 on that strip at 146 hah. eek.

Best advice for court? Be respectful, courteous, answer questions when they talk to you, shut up when they're talking. Oh, and be honest.

Sweet gig. Looking back I wish I would've gotten into that field before leaving the Army.

LOL Glad he said it. I don't have time for childish posts. I've spent enough time in the General Discussion thread.

No offense to Adamz, but taking advice for an incident that occured in Cali from an Ohio LEO doesn't make sense as perception of the laws will vary. Even here in Michigan bordering Ohio the LEOs have a very different perspective on what is acceptable and what is not. (101 is above the threshold of what is acceptable pretty much anywhere in the US). Rush hour traffic here flows at 80-90 in a 70 zone. (When it is not stopped)

The speed limit, location (city/desert?) TOD, weather your attitude when speaking with the officer and driving record will all be taken into account. If you can afford it, I always recommend finding a lawyer that works with the court you will need to appear in. A good lawyer knows the law, a great lawyer knows the judge!

Pucker-up and don't pick up the soap in the shower if the judge locks you up. We just had a guy do the speeds you did and he is spending 60 day in lockup and lost his Vette.

It's his first offence he'll be fine. The judge will question him, talk down to him like he's a 5 yr old, knock the charges down a bit, slap him with a pretty ugly fine and send him on his way.

Nothing to get excited about really.

sounds like you need a lawyer.i hate to think what your fine will be.where i live, going that fast, they automatically tow your car in and lock you up.you could also lose your license.if it were me,i would contact a lawyer to see what he thinks.
