GT2RS Crash

I just wanted to share this news from another forum I belong to. This is by far the worst crash i've seen....160mph....mid-air crash. I thought that wing was supposed to keep the car down!

Quote:
This has to be one of the most disturbing car wrecks we have ever seen. A luxury4play member received an e-mail the other day with these photos and minimal information. The sender mentioned in the e-mail that he wanted to purchase this Porsche GT2 RS two months ago and after a few weeks the car was sold to somebody else.
That somebody had this horrible accident only four hours after picking up the car. The crash occurred at a speed of 160 mph (257 km/h) and “he was airborne when he hit” a semi-truck. The vehicle was equipped with a full roll bar and harnesses, but slim chances of anyone surviving after what looks to be an extremely violent crash.

The coilovers are sitting horizontal instead of vertical, they used the jaws of life (you can see in one of the pix) but there's no way the guy survived. He only had the car in his possession for 4 hours....

If the RS wasn't on the rims, I'd have no clue what kind of car this was! I'm just baffled of it hitting a vehicle mid air, never heard of that happening!

I have no empathy for this. One does not take a car up to 160 MPH under any circumstances until you learn the vehicle's mannerisms. You gotta know where the limits are. I assume this happened on a public roadway, and that compounds the chances of disaster since one small dip in the road could do you in.

What a waste of a car. As for the owner...natural selection at work there.
