I'm getting fat. I stopped working out 5 days ago and "welcome back pounds" . This dieting and working out s**t gets old real quick.

So the anchore woman is few pounds over.....as long as she delivers the news who gives a s**t if she is "fat". The writer of that e-mail is a yellow jackass imo.

I lost 140 pounds this year, then I gained 40 back but I am back on my diet. Yes people make their own choices but I still dont see how anyone has the right to make fun of or bully someone else because of their appearance.

Soooo she is saying that her being obese is a good thing this month since its bulimia month and that scares her.....really? that was mentioned exactly why?

A proper diet and excercise would fix that and not lead to bulimia.

Im not trying to throw stones, but why do people who are overwieght feel they have to come up with excuses about why being obese isnt a bad thing instead of addressing the issue.

My parents find all kinds of things pointing to smoking not being as bad as people say, like even though 80% of people with lung cancer are smokers, only 5% of smokers get lung cancer. They arent denying that smoking is bad, but they are deflecting it by stating something is worse or downplaying the severity of the habit.

That is exactly what that diatribe she went through was, a deflection of the real issue.

Yes his email was rude and uncalled for, but just because someone is rude or wrong in the way they state something, doesnt make the statement itself incorrect.



And why do obese people keep grouping themselves in with minorities, disability and disabled people? Those groups did not choose to be what they are and in almost every case cant change it, but you can correct being obese, there are inumerable avenues to follow if you want to. There are exceptions to that, but I see people in wheelchairs, missing limbs etc at the gym all the time excercising and maintaining a active lifestyle. Anyone who is healthy and mobile who chooses to be obese has no excuse and is not in my opinion eligible to membership into the minorities, disability and disabled people group.

Fat people don't bother me.....the endless subsequent excuses though are about the only thing that DOESNT go in their mouths. The fact that they don't CARE is what bothers me because their kids accept that lifestyle and are oinking before they can walk.

It's BEYOND simple. Diet and exercise. Not one, not the other......an appropriate mix of both and VOILA.......you're not on TV defending you and your like. "terrified for my children" but teach them exactly the opposite by example. CLASSIC case of: Do as I say, not as I do.

The email out of the blue was somewhat out of line; agreed...but accurate nonetheless IMO.

WTF, dude? You don't know her. For all you know, she could have a thyroid condition or could have an incredibly hard time losing weight. Suffice to say, the fact that she is female alone goes against her since their metabolic rate is more catered to storing fat.

Having been a chubby kid but am now lean and fit because of diet and exercise, I know the difference between how you're looked at by the public when you're fat and when you're not, and really it's downright cruel. Like you say, I did something about it but I still dislike the way a lot of fat people are looked upon and you'll see why below...

She did nothing to provoke the comment she received and now she is probably starving herself thinking she'll get thin instead of losing it slowly like she's supposed to. My mother is 275 lbs and eats once every two days - the reason being is because in her old age, she eats so seldom that she lost the opportunity to diet herself down and now her metabolism is shot and is adjusted her daily calorie needs to what she usually eats, which is next to nil. She may also have cushings syndrome, which is a condition where the pituitary gland distributes an excess of the stress hormone Cortisol and is characterized by a hunch on the back and central body mass, which she has. Oh, but she is a fat slob who takes all the Mallomars, right? You generalize all fat people into a category of careless, filthy, gluttonous slobs who have no care for their appearance or their "waste-of-space" existence when in actuality, a sizable portion of these people contain actual clinical conditions working against them.

And dude, 7 days a week for an hour and a half? I'll assume you came up with that just to impress others. Well, unless you're an olympic athlete who takes in excess of 6,000+ calories a day (ever see what Michael Phelps eats?) look up overtraining before you preach fitness to the masses. It's all fine and dandy and admirable that you all go to the gym and care about your health and appearance; hell, I do it myself. But if you want to preach it around and ridicule people who aren't exactly like you, it makes you no worst than the "fat, gluttonous slob" you automatically think this poor woman is. Even though you haven't met her or know her exact situation.

Same people here that are making fun of fat people and say they are unhealthy and should be eating right and exercizing are probably the same ones that enjoy driving at 20 MPH over the limit, love to drag race and think they will never have an accident and get offended if someone tells them they are driving dangerously.
