how can you really say it's something your grandmother would drive when damn near everyone has no clue what it even looks like yet. i really like that white photo-shopped car though

So why go through the extra steps of modifying the car, marketing a "new" Chevy and then trying to sell it? Why not just bring it over as a Holden badged car?

Because the cost of starting up the Holden brand in the US would defeat the purpose.

I'm really excited about this. I'm hoping for some solid information before I order my 1LE...I may end up waiting on this car instead.

I'm excited about finally seeing this thing. I hope the styling is aggressive.

Bring me the build sheet for it and then I'll believe. As far as anyone has been able to ascertain with records, NO factory Oldsmobile wagon was a 442 or Hurst/Olds for public consumption. While the wagons could be had with the 455 engine and W-25 Ram Air intake system from the factory, they were built as Vista Cruisers or Cutlass wagons, but never 442s. Supposedly, Demmer (of 68/69 Hurst/Olds fame) "built" a 1968 442 wagon, but I've never seen any evidence of it.

Olds "built" a 1970 442 wagon by using W-30 parts and striping/emblems on it for press vehicle, and for 1972, Hurst converted Vista Cruisers to Hurst/Oldses for camera crews and medical teams to use during the Indy 500 that year. In fact, several "clones" are out there still. Just saw a 67 "442" wagon with a 400 and 4 on the floor in Atlanta back in October. Nicely done, but not factory. Maybe it's a car they should have built, but they didn't.

Berejik was to Olds like Royal was to Pontiac. Berejik was big time into factory-sponsored drag racing and was the place to go for Olds performance-related stuff. Berejik also supplied the Smother's Brothers (of TV fame) with their Oldsmobiles to race during 68-71.

The only 4-door 442 was the B09 RPO (which was the 442 package) for police use in late 1964. The B09 option was available for all Cutlass models EXCEPT station wagon in 64 because of the roll-over potential of the wagons of that time.

As for this new SS, I just can't do a 4-door "muscle" car. Sorry. Ain't happening. Might be a nice car, but the jellybean look just doesn't do anything for me.

From what I understand, it'll be much more than that.

I promise you all, it will not look nothing like the Holden Commodores. It will look like a spiced up version of the Caprice..I am curious about the powerplant options on this thing though

...It's a Commodore. Not a Caprice.

Take the "or" out of Commodore...ewww.

hahaha.

I'm sure it'll be cool for whatever segment they're gunning for, but why would you want that NOW when the Camaro and Stingray are available? I guess different strokes, but I'm still trying to gather the concept. Unless they offer an LSA type powerplant or something, a la CTS-V style.
