So I'm super cautious. I don't want to get hurt again. So I don't let people in. It's not the way to be, I know-- but I'm terrified NOW because I've found someone I'm starting to let my guard down with, and it's so great that I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, know what I mean?

I think people just don't take marriage seriously. If it happens for me, it will happen ONCE, and that is it. I think way too many people just marry whoever and say oh if it doesn't work out I'll get a divorce later. Marriage in the last 15 years or so does NOT mean what it meant before that, kwim? It isn't what it used to be. That kind of commitment should be more serious than that. My parents have been together 35 years. They've had really bad times but they work through them.
