Oh cry me a river why don't you! Give me a break, the fact that your seriously thinking about selling your car cause you don't like what other people do with theirs, oh my god, I guess I have to sell my caddy cause the mob used to stuff the trunk with their victims, don't want to be associated with anything bad.

People have so many misconceptions about other people's actions and conduct I just have to laugh. Some of you have no clue. Others are directly on point. Some of us that may be into chrome and bling or appearance mods have spent more time rebuilding engines and doing mechanical work and actually running machine shops for twenty years and may just want to get away from that nonsense cause their tired of paying the cost of breaking cars when you push them mechanically.

You race them, you brake them It's a fact of life. I want to hang on to mine a little longer. Thank you very much. Go buy that vette, I hear they have some new members that are real gear heads and like to break their cars. Hehe

The only thing that bothers me is the 'Family friendly' settings. I mean shit, people who can drive cars cant speak freely because its assumed that people who are too young to drive cars are haunting a car forum... What a loop.

If you guys think this is forum is amusing imagine a bike forum debating if classic paintings that showed some nudity were smut and unsuitable for posted i thought some people were going to wake up with a horse head in bed with them.

I have grown to really dislike 5th gen camaro owners. Sorry if this hurts people's feelings, but I'm gonna get this out.

In addition to the mostly pointless nonsense on the forums, my local car show has also left me annoyed. I have been going to this show for 10+ years. Since I got my 5th gen, I have continued to park with some of buddies I have made over the years, ranging from a 4th gen LT1 to an old Nova to a straight up army Jeep. We walk around the show and check out all the cars, chat, share stories, and hang out.

Then we have the 5th gen crew. They constantly wave me over to park near them when I roll in, but I snub them every time.

They gather at the show, created their own section away from everyone else. They take up more parking spaces than necessary (surprise surprise) and try to prevent others from parking in "their area". They have their own lame "5th gen" tshirts, and congregate in a little huddle like a high school clique. They don't make an effort to walk around the show or talk to others. A few of them need to start their cars and rev their awful, raspy sounding home brew exhaust. Not even the pro-street Chevelles do this. The king of their group actually has a cold air intake that he installed himself! Whoa! The appearance master of the group has a camaro that has every possible appendage and body piece converted to chrome. The car blinds people when it is sunny out. All the while, they look down and act smug towards the car show visitors that don't have muscle cars that just came to enjoy the night. As the show concludes, they incessantly rev and peel out of the parking lot, leaving on an even more obnoxious note.

Not sure what it is about this car, but this crowd is very disappointing. The 5th gen camaro is just another muscle car. It is not "better" than anything else out there, it's just another platform. Being one of the tens of thouasans of people that owns one does not put you in some sort of exclusive club. It is still just a car. Get over yourselves.
+ 1! Wasn't like this 3 years ago here. Camaro owners then bought the car because it was bad ass and bought it for themselves. IMO a lot of people buying today (not all) are buying 5th gens to feel like some sort of celebrity. They heard of the attention this car gets and had to have it to get looked at. Once that kind of crowd gets involved things get ugly, just my opinion of course.

I have to agree with the OP, And the threads that say "Instant respect today" and "Another Permagrin", "Help me name my Camaro" etc.. Are so cheesy and convient cliche terms to say for these forums. Its as if there is some Mork and Mindy egg that opened up and all the people that have never seen or owned a car before came out of it and bought camaros lol Its a camaro people, nothing more, trust me out here in a little place called Scottsdale, nobody cares other then the owner that they saw a camaro and I like it that way. Its a camaro people, a good muscle car redefined thats it. my rant is over lmao

Wow I do know how you feel I guess....... I thought Camaro 5 was getting a little out of hand with the same things you say, then we had a cool idea and I was one of the first 10 to be a founding member of our local Camaro club that has over 900 members yeah over 900.....
Some of them I know and some I don't, and what I do know is we are a family oriented club that has events Local and not so Local to the Chicago land area every weekend during the summer and fall and spring and even have an annual Christmas AKA after Christmas party for our members. Its something we enjoy not only our cars but the new Friends we have made on the way. I would also like to invite you out to the Track events we have set up. We have several all summer from Drag racing to auto cross, it's really a way to hang out with some people that love the car, yes some of us like the attention it brings and so forth, but hey when you can get a free T shirt and represent the local club at all kinds of events and talk to 1000's of people about the car, I say don't let a few people that 1% deter you from your Camaro... I love the Mods and power yours has, I say if you want to race it come out and join us. I for one am inviting you and I know once you actually meet and get to know us we are a great Camaro family. www.Chicago5thgen.com is a local club and I am very proud to be a part of a great Camaro family!

I have to say, even only being in the 5th gen crowd for a few months, the smugness of the owners is really ridiculous.

I felt out of place with the Mustang crowd, so I switched over. But it feels more and more like things are worse with the 5th gen crowd than any other owners group I've been a part of.

No offense to anyone. Not everyone is an obnoxious, arrogant jerk who thinks there Camaro is the end all be all. But I would definitely say the majority are.

The best part about 5th gen is....Its an amazingly sharp car....the worst part -- any idiot with the money can buy one. So yup no matter what car show or cruise nigth you goto they will be there. What separates us from them is not the car but the owners attitude. No its not just another hotrod, its a 5th gen Camaro. Yup I park way out when I goto a store so no idiot that isn't paying attention or who just dosent care damages it. But I also don't have a problem with any of the other car owners that are equally proud of their ride. I do have an issue with the idiots you refer to also. You are a proud owner not an A** like them which makes you better off to start with.
