Nah I feel you. I have seen many a dumb crowd of car owners in my day. But it was usually the import crowd back them. It sucks to see when it's your own brand. I just don't wanna get lumped in with that nonsense.

I wish Andy Rooney wasn't dead. He would have loved this forum.

I've been a member of, in no particular order, Mustang forums, Charger forums, Volkswagen/Audi forums and Saab forums (there really is such a place but now they're very, very sad).

The Mustang forums are the worst in terms of juvenile behavior. I'd have to say that the Audi forum I belonged to when I had my B7 was the best. A very loyal and VERY helpful membership and much less "fast & furious" crap than you might expect.

This one is right in the middle. I like it.

This seems like a pretty pointless thread to me.

The shows I go to are pretty strict...if any group or individuals are out of line or disrespectful they are either kicked out, or not allowed back in the next time....If the guys who run the show don't see a problem, bring it to their attention. Usually, the crusty old guys who run those shows are very protective of their venue, and don't want to lose it. But then again, they were young once, too!

I have grown to really dislike 5th gen camaro owners. Sorry if this hurts people's feelings, but I'm gonna get this out.

In addition to the mostly pointless nonsense on the forums, my local car show has also left me annoyed. I have been going to this show for 10+ years. Since I got my 5th gen, I have continued to park with some of buddies I have made over the years, ranging from a 4th gen LT1 to an old Nova to a straight up army Jeep. We walk around the show and check out all the cars, chat, share stories, and hang out.

Then we have the 5th gen crew. They constantly wave me over to park near them when I roll in, but I snub them every time.

They gather at the show, created their own section away from everyone else. They take up more parking spaces than necessary (surprise surprise) and try to prevent others from parking in "their area". They have their own lame "5th gen" tshirts, and congregate in a little huddle like a high school clique. They don't make an effort to walk around the show or talk to others. A few of them need to start their cars and rev their awful, raspy sounding home brew exhaust. Not even the pro-street Chevelles do this. The king of their group actually has a cold air intake that he installed himself! Whoa! The appearance master of the group has a camaro that has every possible appendage and body piece converted to chrome. The car blinds people when it is sunny out. All the while, they look down and act smug towards the car show visitors that don't have muscle cars that just came to enjoy the night. As the show concludes, they incessantly rev and peel out of the parking lot, leaving on an even more obnoxious note.

Not sure what it is about this car, but this crowd is very disappointing. The 5th gen camaro is just another muscle car. It is not "better" than anything else out there, it's just another platform. Being one of the tens of thouasans of people that owns one does not put you in some sort of exclusive club. It is still just a car. Get over yourselves.
I wouldn't let it push you to the point of selling your car.

For example, I bought an Android smartphone because almost every single person I knew with an iphone was a prick. Know what? My Android has been a buggy locking up disaster of a phone.

My point? Just because some 5th Gen owners are how you describe, don't let that ruin your Camaro experience.

As for this forum, I read some threads and think that some people (narcissists, maybe?) just NEED to start a thread, like some people start a conversation just to hear themselves talk.

Heck, I imagine a lot of the "personal experience" threads are exaggerated, or even completely made up.

But, this is the internet.
