Where did you pick this up at. I take it this puts the whine back sort of like the 03/04 cobra's?

Yep. Ford Racing sells it for $50 I think..I forget what I paid for it but around that. It basically replaces the stock intake tube between the air filter and throttle body so you can hear the "whine" from the SC a bit better, unfortunately still not loud enough like on the Termis but it lets out a little more whine than stock. Takes minutes to install. The stock one has baffles inside it that supresses the intake noise which basically mutes the SC whine. A lot of guys use this FRPP one because it looks stock and it is a Ford product...some use the one from JLT (which cost a whole lot more because it is CF which looks nicer). PM me if you are interested in the FRPP one I have, I will give you a nice deal.

Great review.

Do you regret building up your SS and selling it for a higher end pony car like your GT500 or the new ZL1?

Now that the ZL1 is out would you recommend just buying a factory supercharged car with a warranty vs buying the V8 entry level model and modding it.

I dont really have the cash on hand to buy a supercharger and all the supporting mods + suspension but I can swing a few extra bucks for the monthly payment on a top of the line model.

That is why in the SS, I did the widened ADM wheel package .. it just makes the car look tough ....

I think there is more potential in the Camaro as I think there is more room in the back vs the GT500 .
There are GT500's tucking 345's on rims up to 11.5" wide.

315's but still wider then stock

Truck Norris, I know my 10" rear wheels currently can have a max of 305/40/18's mounted on them and still be to the tire manufacturers specs, what off set would a 10.5' or 11" inch wheel have to be with a 315 wide tire not to rub in a GT500? My offset is still the same as stock +45mm. Anyone? What offset would 11's have to be to fit with 315" ??

Are the only choices at that tire width R compound tires?? The problem is when going thicker to 315 with 18's or 19's with the GT500, I don't see any tire options that are tall enough in diameter, which would be 27"- 27.6". Does anyone know of any summer tires that are that height range for 18 or 19 inch wheels??? Thanks, Erik

It all depends of the wheel's offset. Heck 285 is the widest you can go on the 19x9.5 RTR rims because it has a screwy offset that pushed the tires out instead of inward.

345's on 18x11 widened stockers

20x12's widened Supersnakes

Brilliant words my friend. Here they guy comes in with what he states is a "Non biased comparison" and as usual we have to get the biased response. Try something a little more original next time. This one has been used a hundred times over.

I definately don't regret building the SS up as I did. I enjoyed the heck out of that car and would do it again if I had to. That being said, I think there are advantages to buying a car that already has a power added as typically it also has supporting mods to go with it and from the begining will probably be a bit cheaper to mod to get horsepower. If your comfortable w/ stock horsepower levels etc and only do the normal intake/exhaust mods, you also have a warranty that backs that up.

What I really need to do is relax and enjoy but somehow there is a clock inside of me that says NEW car ever 2 or 3 years

Thanks Black GT. These guys in this forum love arguing about their opinions of the looks of the two car platforms. It will never end.

Same a taste in women. I like middle height latin women with a ton of hair where it counts. Am i really going to convince the rest of the world that is what they should like too, otherwise they are clueless??

Give it up and grow up little boys, and your comic book car tastes, you'll never make me like to eat sardines ever, so quit declaring that your car is so great looking to everyone, it gets boring. Erik

Bye the way, it's simple, the 2012 GT500 is a better performing car than the Camaro SS, and the ZL1 is a better performing car than the 2012 GT500, and the jury is still out on the 2013 GT500, so let's get real. Erik

Not sure why you posted this here as most people were "keeping it real" and didn't have anything negative to say .. please refrain so we can keep this thread going if people want to read and post to it ..

If you would like wider tires on the back, have them widened at Weldcraft. Either use your stock rims or pick up another pair and have them widened. Like many other Shelby owners I had this done and had no complaints. I ran MT's on my car but it was not a daily driver. Congrats on not letting brand bias keep you from enjoying the car you want.....
