On the road course you can argue it different ways for each car and technically youd probably be right because its pretty much just speculation for now. |

Again, there are a lot more than minor tweeks to the 2013 GT500. I agree that Ford should have gone with 305/35/19's in rear giving a tire height of 27.45 and a sidewall of 4.2 inches, same sidewall as the ZL1 on it's 305/35/20's.
But Ford gave in to the giant wheel look of this decade, so thy had to go with the 285's. Drag racers can put phat tires in the back since they don't care about total driving balance like road racers. Erik

As far as I read - all the ones I mentioned. In those classes, if it comes OEM, it's okay.

Consistant 3.7's 0-60, and mid 11's 1/4 mile reported from multiple magazines...Sounds like traction is most certainly NOT an issue. It has also been reported that the LC/TC is so good, that it will perform as good, if not better than a professional driver. What were you saying about those 285's again???... ![]() Here is some reading material for ya http://www.caranddriver.com/features...-gt500-feature P.S. If you don't like this post, skip over it and read someone elses... |

2011 Mustang GT500 Car & Driver 12.4 Motor Trend 12.35 Edmunds 12.4 Autoweek 12.3 Road & Track 12.4 Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords 12.02 (using their best driver and every trick in the book) Even if the 100 hp brought times down by 4/10s second, we're looking at 12s or about what the ZL1 will do (Motor Trend video today says the ZL1 ran under 12 seconds on a crappy track). It's going to be an interesting comparison. No one has tested the 13 GT500 in production form, so for you to say "multiple magazines say it runs mid 11s" is kinda speculation. The basic suspension for the 13 GT500 is basically the same as the 2011 "with minor tweaks".

Car and Driver got a 12.3 from the ZL1, Motor trend got a slightly better 12.1. Seems pretty close to me, so i don't see how the 13 GT500 with it's added HP, better suspension, and launch control could possibly NOT be quicker than the ZL1???? |
