Not so much you, though I think its a mob mentality here on C5. I like to read all the stories of "Traded in my 6 for an 8". As though to say something about themselves. If I ever trade in my 6 (I wont ) I would not post it as had a 6 moved to a 8.

If I get a ZL1, I will say something like F**K yea I own a ZL1.
I will keep my Synergy Green Camaro til I die or my son takes it away from me.

The "blue flame 150" V6 was only available in the Corvette in 1953 and 1954. Then it was GONE, and ONLY V8's for production Corvettes.

I personally LOVE my V6 Camaro. I just like the V8 bumper (minus the mail slot). Way more aggressive looking. I use it as my DD, and have my old 'vette for when I need a torque kick-in-the-pants!

And my V6 Camaro is a hell of a lot faster than my brother's (previous car) '86 Camaro V6 that had trouble hitting 80mph!

I'm real ok with how much power my v6 has and I don't much give a crap what someone else thinks about it. They give us options because we don't all want the same thing. Makes sense, eh? Really. If someone else wants more power, more power to 'em. I'm not looking to race.
Now if I win the lottery I'd sure go buy a track toy, among other things but until then I'll just putz along in my 312 hp V6.

After you get a ZL1 you will want the latest and greatest. Sorry I don't think you will ever be satisfied. There is always something better around the corner. I'm just joking!

If I could buy a SS I would've but there's always gas prices and I've already had my v8 fun with my Z28 that I don't mind having the V6. Plus it looks just as sexy

Oh my god I hear that! I lived in Utah when I had my 86 and I swear I had to try getting to 80 just to get going up hill in the canyons to go 65-70mph lol

I miss that car but only because she was my first Camaro.

The only way you are going to average 22mpg with the V8 is if you spend all your time on the highway and drive like a grandma. Should've just got the V6, then.

I drive the sh!t out of my V6, pedal to the floor half the time, stay 1-2 gears below I should be in, and still get 22mpg average on surface roads. If I had an SS and drove it like that I'd be lucky to get about 12mpg.

PS - I would've bought the SS if I could've afforded it at the time, but I'd be at least 10 grand more in the hole.
