Yes, indeedie...I have fast digits...

I actually recall the '73 SS, which was a pretty rare car. And I almost ordered a '74 Malibu 2-dr with a 454/M40...and then the OPEC nonsense started, Fall '73, and suddenly a Big Block didn't make a lot of sense...

Here's a question that, as a youngin', the answer always made me titter like a school girl:

Without ANYONE looking this up ANYWHERE, what was William Durant's MIDDLE name?

Bonus points: What was his claim to fame with regard to Chev-0h-let?

'76-'77-'78...

BTW, I'm pleased/proud/humbled to have been able to call Richie Evans, who will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame with Cale and DW and Glen Wood and Dale Inman soon, a "friend"...watched him many a-time shellac the guys at Oswego in NASCAR Modified. NASCAR's greatest Winner, by number of Feature Wins...all of 'em with a Chebbie engine.

Righie Evans was the man! Always loved it when I would get to see him race on TV which wasn't often back in the 70's. would drop everything to watch Wide World of Sports and get to see the Super Modifieds run. Back then they were the baddest thing runnin'. Was very glad to see he made a early entrance into HOF.

Yes, he was...but his TRUE claim to fame was having the chutzpah and cojones to create GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION by combining a disparate group of fledgling car companies into ONE thriving entity. That fact, no one can take away from him...

Errily similar to today, Wall St. was his undoing...along with a few personal failings...

Richie was NINE-TIME NASCAR Modified Champion...and simply didn't want to trek "South". He beat the likes of Geoff Bodine (the first to "migrate", and the first NASCAR driver hired by Mr. Rick Hendrick - you recognize THAT name, don't you?!), Jimmy Spencer, Steve Park, and others who eventually went "South". 480 combined wins, and 28 Championships, total.

His induction opens the door for all manner of deserving-but-relatively-unknown drivers to enter the hallowed Hall..
