I got the chance a month or so back, what would you like to know?

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

well i am primarily concerned about driving feel (straight line deficiencies can easily be fixed)
but i read somewhere that the car gets a little shaky at the higher rpm's, is this true? how heavy is the steering feel? does the synchro rev match work awesomely? how is the car performance wise without the track pack? the camaro i would get would be a V6 and while a bit more money i would be willing to stretch and get a 370z if the performance difference warranted it. |

Definitely does NOT shake at higher RPM's
Steering feel to me although a touch heavy it was nicely weighted with acceleration SYNCROmatch is awesomely GREAT! makes heel and toe and downshifting a breeze Sans track pack its still fun just cant get all of what you want out of the car! Performance difference is night and day a 370Z will eat up and spit out a v6 Camaro

how heavy is the steering feel? It is a heavy steering feel. This car has AMAZING steering feel. Best steering feel for a car under 50k does the synchro rev match work awesomely? Jizzed in my pants how is the car performance wise without the track pack? dunno, but its not worth the money for the car w/o the track pack. Get it. Its worth it.

GRRRR that makes my decision so much harder.
i want a track car that can compete with my dad's cayman on the track and it looks like the 370z is the better candidate But the 1lt camaro with 6k worth of upgrades to equal the price of the 370 is another option. buying a first car is such a dramatic experience!!! How roomy is the 370z on the inside? im about 6 ft 4 and that tends to be a concern in sports cars. what would you get if you had the choice of 1lt camaro + upgrades or 370z w/ track pack |

Why not just get the SS then? The 370z and SS are very similar in price, the 370Z might even be more with everything you want to get on it.

Very good point. The SS is going to be close. But i have heard that the Mustang handles a tad better on a course, just not really street racing. Of course that is what magazine companies say. For around 30,000 I would probably go for the SS, or else go with a saturn sky redline. Very light cars. If you get a used one and drop a V8 kit into it you could only spend a totall of 33,000 if you do it right. And that will smoke your dads car.

For some reason i prefer the lighter and better balance of the V6 than the V8.
also i think the insurance company would shit a brick if i tried to insure a V8. im an odd person that prefers handling and balance over raw power. and i dont come anywhere close to fitting behind the wheel of a solstice or sky |

Z > LT all day long. 365 days a year. I strongly suggest you go out and drive a 370z, It will either seal the deal or break it. Btw, the 370z has matched or beat the old Cayman in every performance category. If your dads car is stock, you will likely beat him around any road track.

I test drove one a month ago and it was absolutely a well balanced car.
The steering was tight, the shifting was precise and crisp and the synchro-rev match option is def. worth it. The only problem with this car compared to the Camaro SS is the lack of extra room and the sardine can feel to it obviously and the lack of a v8 but, this v6 is no slouch and it really has more feel to the pants for it's 3XX hp than more people would have guessed. If I had no kids and the Camaro SS wasn't coming then I would consider this as my next choice or a used C6. For around 30K any of those car are winners in my book. ![]() One more thing. This car will absolutely kill the Camaro V6. That's no joke.
