But that being said, even when I was a teenager, I carried a knife and barely drank any soda.

It's simply a stupid study that's grasping at straws to find correlations that don't exist. Research money should have gone towards more important things.

I've carried a knife every single day since I was probably 15 and drink a ton of "carbonated non-diet sodas" . Only stabbed someone once, and it was myself because of my own stupidity . Some people just wanna make something out of nothing..... there was a school shooting here the other day, 2 kids smuggled a .22 rifle into the shoot and shot a girl in the neck. As soon as my mom heard about it she started saying "they need to ban baggy clothes, strip search everyone before school...." and all this other . Just stupid the stuff people do to "prevent" stuff.
